A new idea during coffee this morning. Featuring the new @atomic_tone_llc “Triptych” saturation pedal (I’m really impressed with the versatility) and reverb from the @jrockettaudio “Univerb”. @fender 1965 Mustang and @marshallamps 1972 50 watt lead amp

Since the closing of the Smashing Guitars (musical instruments and repairs) in Asheville, NC at the beginning of 2011, I have been hoping to get back to doing what I enjoy which is repairing tube amps. First one on my bench here in Missouri is a 1979 Peavey Mace. After examining all of the capacitors and diodes in the power supply I checked all of the wires connecting to the main board and I found a broken push on terminal that held a feedback signal wire in place. After repairing that and reassembly, I was pleased to find the clean and distorted channels sounding as they should, very Lynyrd Skynyrd like as this is what they used at the time. #vintageamps #amprepair #peavey #vacuumtubes

A day for Strats, a couple weeks ago I got all of my vintage Strats out so that @awakened_81 and I could hear and play the differences between them, and decide which ones to track with here at @edgeofnowherestudio
I’d have to say the 73 (sunburst on the right) won out but all of them offer their own distinct flavor of the Strat tone. 1973-1981.

we’ve had coffee on the east coast, on the west coast, and all through the middle :: we’ve had coffee in the desert, in the mountains, and on the beach :: we’ve had coffee on the road and at home, in the morning and at midnight :: we’ve had coffee in a dozen states and four countries, and I’ve loved every single cup

take me back, take me everywhere

the past dozen days have been some of the most exhausting and exciting and productive days of my life :: driving back and forth between alabama and missouri every week or so isn’t easy, but just look at this place, I don’t want to be anywhere else
