#tbt Released on September 29, 1998, “Word On Tha Streets” is the debut studio album from late West Coast rapper Bad Azz (@badazzlbc) 🚧
Released on Priority Records, “Word On Tha Streets” was the first full-length solo project from Bad Azz. Beginning his career as a member of the rap trio LBC Crew, alongside Lil C-Style (@lilcstyle19) and Techniec (@techniec), Bad Azz was briefly signed to Death Row Records in the mid ‘90’s. Following the group’s disbandment, Bad Azz went on to pursue his own solo career, eventually signing with Priority Records. Including the singles ‘We Be Puttin It Down!’ and ‘Ghetto Star’, his full-length debut “Word On Tha Streets” arrived in 1998, debuting at number 182 on the Billboard 200. Production on the album was handled by DJ Pooh (@djpooh), Ant Banks (@realantbanks), Gangsta (@gangsta_comrads), and Soopafly (@soopaflydpgc), among others. Guest features include Snoop Dogg (@snoopdogg), Kurupt (@official_kurupt), The Lady Of Rage (@theladyofrage_), and others 🚧
Following the release of “Word On Tha Streets”, Bad Azz signed with Snoop’s Doggy Style Records, returning in 2001 with his second studio album “Personal Business”. Sadly, on November 11, 2019, Bad Azz passed away at the age of 43. R.I.P. 🚧
