Looking back on an incredibly exciting few months of music making 💛 somewhere within it all I was sat on a bench learning Bach’s St John Passion off by heart Brahms Geistliches Weigenlied from Zwei Gesänge with the wonderful @tabithaappel.violinist & @mustang.ry 🎻✨ Cosi Fan Tutte Act 1 Finale at Ely Cathedral with the most insanely talented team (Have never sung so many semiquavers in my life) & again at West Road Concert Hall The luscious ending of Howell’s Siciliana for the London Music Fund’s 15th anniversary concert at Sinfonia Smith Square (excuse the shaking camera) The student premiere of Peter Hugh White’s opera Rosalind🧬 - missing my Lady Alice Bragg costume @cambridgeuniversityopera Britten’s Canticles concert at West Road! 📍 Château de Panloy, France Just wrapped up performing La Bohème with Westminster Opera Company in this stunning château. I sang the role of Colline, the philosopher — with Guy Hopkins conducting and Stephen Taylor directing. Feel incredibly lucky to have worked with such a brilliant team. What I’ll treasure most is the spirit amongst the group. A whole bunch of opera lovers gathered in this ancient château — laughter and music everywhere, onstage and off, all supporting one another and growing together. Losing myself in Puccini’s music and Colline’s world, I’ve gained far more than I ever expected. Grateful, content, and carrying this journey in my heart. 🎭🎶 Photographer：Sarah thorpe #Opera #LaBohème #Puccini#WOCo

An incredible two shows this week from @woco_ea and the brilliant singers, orchestra and production team that made it happen, and the beautiful @chateaudepanloy who hosts the performance and team each year. Watching the performance come together on Thursday evening from the audience and seeing the overwhelmingly positive reactions from everyone was particularly special after spending time with the cast through rehearsals and seeing their hard work pay off. It’s a huge effort and such a labour of love from everyone involved behind the scenes, and I’ve loved every minute of being a part of it. Can’t wait to finish the edits and share all the wonderful moments on stage and off ✨ // PRODUCTION Director: Stephen Taylor Conductor: Guy Hopkins Stage management: Serena Hopkins @serena_hopkins Set design: Lydia Hopkins @lydihop_design Costumes: Maria Luz Esteve // CAST Rodolfo: Taining Zhao @taining_zhao Marcello: Alex Hopkins @alexhopkins98 Colline: Zhen Liu @liu.zhenliu Schaunard: Edward Daly @edwardgdaly Benoît / Alcindoro: Hugo Robijns @h_robijns Mimi: Katherine Gregory @katherinegregorysoprano Parpignol: Timothy Burton @timburtontenor Musetta: Eve Maxwell @evepearsonmaxwellsoprano Customs officer: Conor Foster @conor_foster_ Vendors: Leoni Malewezi @leonimalewezi / Katherine Williams @kitkat.englishrose / Edie Behr @ediebehrsoprano / Alice Markham @alicemarkham_x #westminsteroperaco #laboheme #londonphotographer #theatrephotography #portdenvaux

We’re very grateful to @thefranciscrickinstitute for hosting us yesterday, for a taster performance of ‘Rosalind’! We had a wonderful time performing excerpts of the opera to an audience filled with so many geneticists and chemists. Tickets are still available for our performances this Friday and Saturday, but they’re selling fast! Make sure to book before it’s too late… 🎟️🧬

[COSÌ] Admittedly the main allure to do this piece at the start was to hear the insane tenor and soprano runs up close... Here's the culmination of some of Mozart's best and ever-unrelenting music, with thanks to six incredible (and incredibly young) singers, and @cusymphonyorchestra for a farewell of fireworks after two years of music!!

[LENT 2026] Another one done - unable to come up with any passable caption, having spent all and any sense of eloquence on my coursework. After hunting for 8-lines, and ruining many of the best orchestral solos on the piano, at least now I know why Joey Tribbiani loves his food of the Big Apple...
