Project D is a professional street racing team formed in the later stages of Initial D.

It’s created and led by Ryosuke Takahashi, who wants to build the ultimate downhill and uphill drivers and document their growth. The “D” officially stands for “Dream,” symbolizing the pursuit of becoming the fastest through discipline and strategy.

Project D isn’t a random street crew.

It’s structured.

Ryosuke handles strategy, data analysis, course research, and race planning. Every battle is calculated — tire selection, weather conditions, elevation differences. Nothing is left to chance.

The core drivers are:

Takumi Fujiwara — downhill specialist in the AE86
Keisuke Takahashi — uphill specialist in the RX-7 FD

Instead of defending a single mountain like earlier teams, Project D travels across different regions to challenge top local drivers. Each race becomes a test of adaptability, not just familiarity.

Project D represents evolution.

From raw street battles
To organized, purpose-driven competition

It’s where Takumi stops racing by accident and starts racing with intention.
