In time for this troubled 250th July 4, three new pix in Defiance & Dialogue's just released 4th issue, We Da People. And what an amazing cover illustration! Defiance & Dialogue is "a platform where underrepresented artists do not need to water down their culture to be accepted past the literary gatekeepers. A magazine where the truth is not hidden in cute messages and easy-to-swallow pills that stroke entitled egos. A movement that intertwines creative resistance with cultural vulnerability. Each issue explores an array of topics from social justice issues to creative liberty and expression through a curated collection of poetry, prose, visual art, photography, and more. We spotlight work that challenges the academic rigidness and, confronts systems of oppression, and invites authentic storytelling from marginalized and underrepresented voices." Read the liberating prose, poems and delve into the art here: < https://www.theblunt.space/publications/defiance-dialogue-vol-1-issue4 >. @thebluntspace #socialjustice #literature #political #creativewriting #art #photography #racism #genocide #freepalestine #africanamerican

Galería de la Raza presents a double feature exhibition 𝙀𝙣 𝙋𝙞𝙚 𝘿𝙚 𝙇𝙪𝙘𝙝𝙖: 𝙈𝙞𝙧𝙤 𝙮 𝘼𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙤 - un homenaje a Rini Templeton and part 2 of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙊𝙚𝙪𝙫𝙧𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 - featuring the work of Anna Colom and Nayeli Rosas. About the exhibitions: Part Two of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘖 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 features Anna Colom’s 𝘎𝘢𝘺 𝘕𝘰𝘸, 𝘎𝘢𝘺 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 and Nayelli Rosas’ 𝘈𝘮𝘰𝘳 𝘕𝘰 𝘉𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘰, two deeply personal projects exploring queer Latine identity, community, love, healing, and self-expression. Through portraiture, tattoo design, interviews, and storytelling, these works create space for visibility, bodily autonomy, gender affirmation, and belonging. Together, these exhibitions remind us that art is resistance, empowerment, and a living archive of our community. @sistemacreacion
