Firouz FarmanFarmaian
LOEWE Takeover (Middle Poster), 2022

Acrylic, Chinese ink and acrylic marker on repurposed LOEWE catalogue paper (middle poster).
70 × 58 cm (27 3/5 × 22 4/5 in)

Created during the COVID-19 lockdown, The Takeover Series marks a shift from large-scale painting to interventions on vintage fashion magazines from the artist’s personal archive. Developed as a continuation of the Post Tribal and Lost / New Form series, these works transform printed imagery into unique painterly compositions while extending FarmanFarmaian’s exploration of identity, appropriation and abstraction.

The complete LOEWE Takeover sequence comprises six individual works and one central poster. The work presented here is the central composition of the series.

Currently featured in Amidst Vibrant Blooms with Juncture Gallery on Artsy, and on view throughout the summer at Domaine de La Croix Winery, Golfe de Saint-Tropez.

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5, from 6–8 PM for a private Provençal apéritif and viewing with the artist at Domaine de La Croix. RSVP required.
