MCX 2.1.0 is out!

In this release, a lot of my recent pendulum-physics research has been distilled into a custom CHOP operator to drive audio signals and multi-channel systems.

Simple Pendulum

This is the first engine from my MCX SEQ Pendulum.
1 pivot • 1 rod • 1 bob
One independent sim per voice

For each bob and rod, you can control: rod length, bob size, mass, initial velocity, and oscillation angle.

You can use the results from this physics to control parameters like amplitude, trigger, gate, position, and velocity for a generative melody and rhythm or just sit back and see what happens.

Double Pendulum
Two linked rods
Organic, often unpredictable motion

You can control the parameters you saw in the simple pendulum, but now independently for groups of rods and bobs.

The same goes for the results you can get for your melodic and rhythm sequencer, separately for each group and bobs.

Here, i pushed all the pendulums under a lunar gravitational system.

Chain Pendulum

Energy travels along the chain

In MCX SEQ Pendulum you can trigger positive or negative each bobs and many times you want, so the system can also interact through external inputs and evolve continuously.

On this, I made another example video for my reels, where i used external geometries and bouncing balls, between chaos and systemic balance adding… ->

Collision behaviours
Each bob collides with the surrounding bobs

Simple, Double and Chain can be switched to collision mode, so you have 6 different engines.

The impact hit and/or force of each bob can be used to control external elements like visual and/or audio.

I shared already two examples of this, find them in my two previous reels!

This MCX 2.1.0 release includes 6 ready made examples, including the four one you just saw.
