MCM October 2026

This year marks 10 years since my first Comic-Con and I can’t begin to describe what this community has given me since then. I am so grateful to be part of this world, to be a member of this community, for the dear friends I’ve made along the way.

To everyone who built, worked and attended @mcmcomiccon - I love you all. Thank you for giving me a home 🖤

Take us back to October 2nd! 🧡

We’re still thinking about the massive celebration that was FORMATGG 2026.

Our 10 year anniversary was over a year in the making, and this year we took FORMATGG to Liverpool for one of our biggest celebrations yet.

The community came out in strength, and we’re incredibly grateful to every single person who joined us, supported us, exhibited with us, performed with us, partnered with us and helped make the day what it was.

From the moment the doors opened to the final moments of the night, you brought the energy, the atmosphere and the community spirit that makes FORMATGG what it is.

We’re taking a short break now to recover from what has been one hell of a year, but we’ll be back very soon with dates for our 2027 events.

And there are some big changes coming for the community.

We can’t wait to tell you what we’ve got planned.

Thank you for 10 years of FORMATGG.

The next chapter is coming ⌛

£1,600 raised for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK.

Across FORMAT Group’s October events, our incredible community came together to raise a whopping £1,600 for a cause that means so much to us.

We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation UK and their work to help grant life changing wishes for children and young people living with critical illnesses.

We couldn’t have raised this amount without the generosity of our community, and a huge thank you goes to the Cosmaniacs cosplay group for organising an amazing cosplay catwalk show, alongside our brilliant FORMATGG 2026 stage hosts, Joe Joy and Ed Templar, for helping bring it to life, and to Matt Frequencies for the live tunes for our charity cosplay catwalk.

To every single person who donated, bought a raffle ticket, supported the cosplay show or helped spread the word: thank you.

Your generosity is helping make a child’s wish a reality.

Gaming plays such an important part in the wishes of children and young people around the world, and we believe it’s incredibly important that our community rallies behind each other and uses the power of gaming to make a positive difference.

And to everyone who won one of our raffle prizes, we hope you enjoy them!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.

£1,600 raised. One incredible community. And the chance to make a real difference to a child’s life.

That’s what gaming is all about!! 🧡

I took @theraverpg to @format_group FORMATGG in Liverpool last weekend! This was the Friday session - opening the event, so let's not go too hard right?

37 squats later, I had regrets. An absolutely giant thank you to @its_jojoy and @edtempler for holding down the fort when I nearly went down for the count behind the decks!!

The lesson learned here is: gym contributions need to be collaborative, Rave wide 😂 maybe someone in the middle of the circle swaps out after 5 reps!

This thing is ALWAYS in development, even for a big overseas event - I never know what's going to happen, but I can tell you it's always chaotic fun, and I'm grateful to have been able to bring it! I'll be sharing some of my favourite moments from the afterparty tomorrow 😁

In this lot:
Interact, or k1ll the Rave!
Oh, you want to fight the sisters of acid? So be it!
The wizard of the tower causing a cha cha (and me getting a little excited on the floor 🤣)
Uh oh...
Too much excited!
You want to WHAT a dragon??
Barely seeing straight, still mixing 🦾
Memory handouts

A birdie tells me to keep an eye out for a surprise DECEMBER show... Shh 🤫

Ten years ago, I had a dream.

And I was laughed at by my industry for having it.

I saw a lack of events within what I consider to be the greatest entertainment industry in the world: the video games industry.

I believed people needed somewhere to come together. Somewhere to make connections, build friendships, create opportunities, make memories and, for a few hours, forget about everything else going on in their lives.

From that mission, @format_group was born! 🧡

And over the last 10 years, this journey has allowed me to build a life that I could only have dreamed of back then.

We went from a small bar meetup in Manchester's NQ to becoming an award winning events company working for the video games and technology sectors.

We've hosted events in Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton and beyond.

We've been trusted with TEDx licences.

We've worked with some of the biggest brands in the creative and technology industries.

We've welcomed dozens of incredible speakers to our RE: FORMAT summits and @tedxnorthernquarter conference.

We've brought thousands upon thousands of people together.

We've raised countless funds for causes that mean so much to us.

But most importantly, we've created community conduits that have changed people's lives in ways I'll probably never know.

And that's why I do this.

Watching someone walk through the doors of one of our events, make a connection, make a friend, create a memory, embrace somebody they may never have met before, live completely in the moment and leave whatever problems they might be carrying at the door...

That's the greatest reward I could ever ask for.

To create spaces where people can simply be themselves is something I will never take for granted.

Because of this mission, I get to wake up every single day and do something I truly and utterly love.

It is by the grace of God that I'm even here to write these words.

I'm incredibly grateful that I've been given the opportunity to build a business that brings me so much joy, and meaning to others.

To everyone who joined us to celebrate 10 years of FORMAT Group, thank you.

I have something much bigger to announce soon.

It's time for change.

We did it! 🧡

10 years.

Last week, I delivered our largest event season to date as we celebrated 10 years of @format_group events by delivering our biggest FORMATGG: The Ultimate Gaming Social yet, alongside RE:FORMAT Games Industry Summit and FORMATGG After Hours.

Three days. Three venues. 1.6K attendees across 3 days. And more incredible moments than I can probably count.

And when I actually stop and think about how far we’ve come, it’s pretty difficult to put into words.

10 years ago, FORMAT was a group of underdogs meeting in bars around Manchester’s Northern Quarter, trying to build something we couldn’t find anywhere else.

We had no idea where it would go.
Since then, we’ve grown into one of the UK's leading award-winning events companies and a community that brings gamers, developers, studios, publishers, creators, investors, tech companies and friends together.

We’ve expanded to different cities. We’ve built events from the ground up. We’ve taken some big risks. We’ve worked with some of the world's biggest brands in gaming and tech. Pushed ourselves to achieve the impossible, but most importantly, loved every single moment of it.

Seeing hundreds of people come together, meet someone new, forge business connections, make memories, dance, laugh, create memories and simply enjoy being part of this industry was incredibly special.

To everyone who has supported FORMAT Group over the last 10 years, thank you.
Whether you’ve been there since the very beginning or walked through the doors for the first time this week, you’ve played a part in this story.

To our sponsors, friends, speakers, creators, exhibitors, performers, volunteers, suppliers and, most importantly, the incredible team behind the scenes, thank you.

I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you! 🧡

This year has been the biggest year in FORMAT Group and @tedxnorthernquarter history and has pushed me to become the very best version of myself possible, and now I'm taking some well earned time off to rest.

Then we go again!

Event videos and our 2027 dates will be revealed very soon.

WE DID IT!! 🧡

10 years.

Honestly, we're feeling all of the emotions right now.

This week, we celebrated 10 years of FORMAT Group events by delivering our biggest FORMATGG: The Ultimate Gaming Social yet, alongside RE:FORMAT Games Industry Summit and FORMATGG After Hours.

Three days. Three venues. Over 1500+ tickets across 3 days. So many incredible moments 🥹

And when we take a step back and actually think about how far we've come, it's pretty hard to articulate into words.

10 years ago, FORMAT was a group of underdogs meeting in bars around Manchester's Northern Quarter, trying to create an events movement we couldn't find anywhere else.

Since then, we've grown into a community that brings gamers, developers, studios, publishers, creators, investors, tech companies and friends together year on year.

We've travelled to different cities. We've built events. We've worked with gaming changing brands. We've changed the events game for the UK takes industry! 🔶

But most importantly, we've built something that belongs to the community.

And last week was a huge reminder of exactly why we started in the first place.

To see countless amounts people coming together, meeting new people, reconnecting with old friends, discovering games, dancing, laughing, creating memories and simply enjoying being part of this industry was incredibly special.

To everyone who has supported FORMAT over the last 10 years, whether you've been with us from the very beginning or walked through the doors for the first time last week, thank you.

To our partners, friends, speakers, creators, exhibitors, performers, volunteers, suppliers and the incredible team behind the scenes, thank you.

We genuinely could not have done this without you.

We're going to take a little bit of time now to breathe, recover and let everything sink in.

Then we'll be back.

Our event videos and 2027 dates will be revealed very soon! ⏳
