💬 Interlink Baltics panel discussion - a cozy event with 100 people in the audience and four of us (entrepreneurs and community builders) sharing our experiences and thoughts on business connections. 🤔Some of my key takeaways: ➖Having a goal when attending events doesn’t make you transactional. Your time is valuable, so don’t network just for the sake of it. The difference is whether you see people only for what they can do for you. ➖You never know where a conversation will lead. Sometimes it leads to a business deal, sometimes to a party on a yacht⛵️, sometimes nowhere. And that’s ok. ➖Networking is a two-way street. We all know that annoying person who only shows up when they need something. Don’t be that person yourself. Relationships need mutual interest and effort. Therefore build relationships before you need them. ➖ A network is more than a contact list. A big following or hundreds of connections mean little if there’s no real relationship behind them. Quality over quantity, and remember that maintaining a large network takes time and effort, too.✌🏻
