Human impact is one of those standards where there is SO much to cover 🖐🏼 🌎 🌱

Climate change, pollution, conservation, resource use, food systems, and human health are just some of the topics that come up. But beyond just getting through all of the topics, I want my students to see how they’re connected and why they matter.

This standard can be such a meaningful opportunity to show students that their everyday choices and habits have an impact and that they really can make a difference.

That’s what I love about this free Planetary Health lesson from @educatedchoices. It helps students make those connections between human health, food systems, and Earth’s natural systems while also giving them a chance to think about how these ideas connect to their own lives.

And honestly, I love when a resource is actually ready to use, low prep, and engaging for students.

The Planetary Health lesson includes an 18 minute video, complete lesson plan, guided notes, discussion prompts, and a bunch of different student activities for you to choose from!

If you’re teaching human impact this year, save this post for when you’re planning your unit! And comment ECP and I’ll send you the link to the free lesson and resource library!

What if we stopped teaching climate change as a stand-alone topic?

Food. Biodiversity. Ecosystems. Human health. Climate.

Helping students see how these systems connect can make the bigger picture click. 💡

That’s why I love the FREE Planetary Health lesson from Educated Choices Program. It brings these connections together in one classroom-ready lesson with the video, guided notes, activities, discussion prompts, assessments + more already included. 🙌

Perfect for climate, sustainability, ecosystems, or human impact!

Apparently, when you tell middle schoolers to “eat the rainbow,” you need to be VERY specific 🤣🌈
No, I’m not talking about Skittles!!!

I’m using the Micronutrient Rainbow from @EducatedChoices to teach my students how colorful fruits and vegetables provide the vitamins and minerals our bodies need. It’s science-based, engaging, classroom-ready, and FREE…aka a teacher’s favorite word 🙌

Teachers, comment ECP and we will send you the link!
