my record is coming out in October. I don’t know what date yet, but that’s the month. So much creative stimulation in the air getting ready to let it go. I was lucky to have my friend @courtneyfoxy in for a studio visit to capture some moments. It’s crazy to visit back to these long studio days and see the relationship to the vault be so accessible. This whole process was handled so tenderly in the presence of @ee.vv.tt and @jj_schoen at @sapphire.jaguar. I’m starting to see the benefit of letting this album sit, tread their own waters and learn to breathe these last several months since completing it. 🥀

it was day 3 of beginning at @sapphire.jaguar studio and we were all learning each others energy and getting acquainted to the space. there was this knowing and acceptance that all the songs ready for this record were going to dissolve and be made all over again. an undoing but like prepared with water, barefoot at the garden bed internally smiling at the spring of the first bud. the essence of the music was welcoming in another being, @ee.vv.tt to merge her feels and direction with the vastness of these stories. for a long while i’ve wondered what it’d be like for someone to step into producing at the heart of how i create. i’m grateful to you Erica. the timeline of this record, love the giver, was cradled so.

and @courtneyfoxy with the vhs footage. ❤️

Hi dear ones. I made a record and did it with some beautiful souls. The gift to collaborate with these energies in the room I am forever grateful to. This was the merging of catharsis and joy. And during this birth, reminders trinkled in for how to love others and yourself while untethering pain. On this bridge, River Eliah was born. I’m here to keep them alive and create through their lens. Please consider following along the sonic soul exploration of @rivereliah . Gonna lean more into that account. This record comes out in September! I’m starting to play some shows now and all this feels really good, even though there are a lot of times when I’m nervous to say the least. In reverence to music and the essence I live through it.
And to this dream team @jj_schoen , @ee.vv.tt @sapphire.jaguar , @cactusgabe , @annannie ❤️‍🔥

with so much love,
Hails

“This Is Wrong” by @matthewflowerspdx out now!!

It was such a beautiful experience to track vocals and guitars and mix this potent and intimate song. Matthew’s voice is incredible and the message of this song really really hits right now, though it was written years ago.

song written and arranged by Matthew Flowers
vocals/guitar tracking + mixing by @ee.vv.tt at Sapphire Jaguar

Had an awesome couple of days @sapphire.jaguar with @ryan_wykert drumming and @ee.vv.tt at the helm. I wanted to get into the studio and just make some music with some good pals. It’s been years since I was the artist and not the operator/engineer/producer. Erica’s space is super comfy and welcoming, very well outfitted, and sounds killer. I highly recommend @sapphire.jaguar for all your production needs. I walked in with no clear ideas and we came up with a strong basis for 3 tunes. More to come! #musicproduction #heavymusic #womenmusicproducers #fuckyeah #recordingstudio
