Yesterday I did a thing! 🥰

In memory of my lovely mum who passed away 20 years today, I had this tattoo done.

It was a little note she left me one day, that I discovered about 10 years ago when burning some old paperwork in the garden. I quickly rescued it from being burnt, and the realisation that I hadn't seen her handwriting in such a long time hit me quite hard. No christmas or birthday cards from her, no little notes left for me anymore.

The note was scrawled on the back of an old document of mine dated 2002. A couple of years before she was diagnosed with lung cancer.
A time when we thought we had all the time in the world together 💔

Seeing her handwriting on my arm permanently has a made more of an impact then I actually could have imagined, and just I love it so much. It looks like she just scrawled the note on my arm today.
I just wish I could make that call 🥺

About to head home from my wee adventure! Yes it is a tattoo! I’ve been thinking for a while about how to celebrate my cello achievements of the last year, and my musical achievements of the last week. I was also surely due a midlife crisis for my 40th birthday! Tattoo by the incredible @ee_ink who put me at my ease instantly and has created exactly what I requested with such grace and delicacy. I also managed to visit the immersive Titanic experience!
