“Listening to the World as It Speaks Through Machines” is the title Auronda Scalera and Dr. Alfredo Cramerotti chose for their essay on REVIEW by eeezeen, their Golden Ticket selection for Issue 3. Congratulations, eeezeen.

In the installation, a camera observes its surroundings while an AI system responds through language learned from hostile online discourse. The work does not present the machine as a distant aggressor. It is entangled with human expression, shaped by the language already circulating through digital culture, which it returns to physical space.

eeezeen writes: “Rather than treating language as a neutral tool for communication, the project approaches it as an operative system that continuously frames how the world is seen and interpreted.” Auronda and Alfredo place responsibility at the centre of their reading: “If AI systems reproduce the language they are trained on, then the work asks us to consider what kind of linguistic environment we are collectively building. The printed slips of paper are not accusations aimed at technology alone; they are fragments of a shared authorship.”

On Monday, 13 July, at 1 pm UK time, 2 pm in Berlin and Rome, and 3 pm in Doha, Auronda, Alfredo and eeezeen will meet live on Instagram to speak about the work and the questions moving through it. Come by, bring your questions, and we will be happy to follow the lines they open.

Digital Garden — Interactive installation by Jinwon Lee, Ziyi Wang, Chengxin Deng 🌳

Eugene (Jinwon Lee) ( @eeezeen ) is an interactive designer at Samsung Electronics and a New media artist. Utilizing a wide range of techniques, from designer user experiences from Ai-based products, to creating works with tangible AI media.

Yaya (Ziyi Wang)( @ziyi_ya_ya ) is a Chinese artist and designer currently studying Creative Computing at University of the Arts London, with a background in Environmental Design from Sichuan University. Her practice spans virtual space, digital installation, visual design, and music-related visual experiences.
Her work explores everyday details, the body, cultural identity, and post-humanist imagination. With experience in interior design, visual identity, and UX design, she is interested in creating immersive and emotionally resonant spatial experiences.

Chengxin Deng ( @caterina.52068 ) is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in photography, working across 3D modeling, digital imaging, interactive design and Unity-based interactive media. Her practice explores social media, internet culture, peace, and emotional relationships within digital spaces.

#Classof2026 📱 Designer @eeezeen (Jinwon Lee / Eugene)’s creative work explores the boundaries between the digital and the physical. As a graduating senior at the Creative Computing Institute, University of the Arts London (UAL), he’s been learning to see technology through a humanistic lens. “Not just how to build it,” he says. “But how to question it.” In his project “Digital Garden,” he invited participants to “water” digital life with sound, exploring fundamental questions about the digital world we live in. “My goal is to be a ‘Humanist for the Next Generation,’” shares Eugene. “A designer and developer who brings both a user-centred rigour and a critical eye to the technologies of tomorrow.” 🚰

“Digital Garden”

This project visualises the concept of digital conversion. Physical instruments are transformed into digital ones through MIDI, while networking systems such as social media have become new modes of expressing our lives. Within a constructed experimental environment, this project explores digital conversion through a posthumanist lens, allowing participants to experience the act of nurturing digital life by ‘watering’ it with digital sound.
