It’s been already a year since I joined this wonderful adventure called UNHOLY, the debut feature by @bb_rave_ in collaboration with @foss.productions

@kviff was rewarding, fun and so so inspiring! We worked hard, we pitched even harder and we had so much fun doing it! Our first time presenting the project outside our small but mighty team landed to both the film industry and the international press 😌

Now, @midpointinstitute just ended yet our journey is only starting! Huge thanks to Phaedra for the trust and the hard work, to @ourestis for bringing the Unholy Dream Team to life and for the rest of the Focus Queer Projects for being the cherry on top 🩷

MAGMA Thanks #6 — Thessaloniki Agora

As MAGMA begins its journey into the world, we’re looking back at some of the workshops, labs and pitching forums that welcomed the project along the way.

This time: @filmfestivalgr AGORA Doc Market

Every member of the Agora team welcomed us with exceptional warmth and care for each project, creating a space where filmmakers could not only pitch and network, but also breathe, reflect and support one another.

A special thank you to Elena Gaitanarou, @angelvergou , @thanosgst and @eezacharo for your generosity, kindness and unwavering support. And a lot of gratitude to @elenachristopoulou for the space she created with her wellness room, one of the most thoughtful initiatives we’ve ever experienced at a film market!

Thank you as well to our wonderful mentors, @emaexplorations and @tempetation , for your insightful guidance throughout the programme.

We were honoured to receive the 2|35 Award for postproduction. A heartfelt thank you to Sakis and the entire 2|35 team for accompanying MAGMA through the final stages of post-production.

Special mention for this year's Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and the AGORA.

As far as bubbles go, it was the most hope-inducing, life-affirming, shit-resisting, community-building, epic-glowing one.

Thank you

We’re grateful to receive the IEFTF Award for Best Documentary Project at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival’s Agora Pitching Forum. Thank you to the jury for choosing our project, to the selection team, to our mentors, and to the supportive organizers. We had a wonderful time with all of you in Greece!

A quick jaunt from Portugal to Athens and Thessaloniki for the 28th Thessaloniki Doc Fest where we presented the IEFTF Award for best project in the Thessaloniki Pitching Forum. My third year here with terrific friends, and film festival folk. But first…two nights in Athens with The Marco Orsini 😁 #IEFTF #tidf28

Cannes Docs 💛 Festivals!

We’re one week away from the Opening of the 28th Thessaloniki Int’l Documentary Festival, taking place March 5-15 ✨ We couldn’t be happier to count TiDF as one of our beloved Festival Partners =)

252 full-length & short docs will be screened across the festival's 3 competitive sections (Int’l Competition, Newcomers, >>Film Forward) as well as in the Open Horizons, Platform+, and Special Screenings strands, including 57 Greek films, for a record number of 80 WP, 32 int’l and 11 European premieres. Key additional sections include the Podcast comp, the Immersive: All around Cinema comp, Top Docs, and NextGen 🚀

This year’s edition also features honorary Golden Alexander accolades presented to film masters Bill Morrison @thevillagedetective and Vouvoula Skoura, as well as to acclaimed producer Yorgos Papalios ; a vast, in-depth special program dedicated to archives – 'All the World’s Memory' –, with screenings of numerous rarities and multifaceted filmic objects, discussions, special editions and more ; the world premiere of @juliettebinoche’s directorial debut, titled 'In-I In Motion', on her collaboration with @akramkhancompany.

AGORA, TiDF’s industry arm, will present 14 projects at the Pitching Forum and 10 in the Docs in Progress section (all from Southeastern Europe & the Mediterranean region), + 4 Greek projects participating in the AGORA BOOST workshop. The industry program also includes the whole new XR Lab, the Doc Market, Agora Talks, Talking Heads, Doc Counseling…

A huge shout-out to the stellar AGORA team, the beautiful @angelvergou, @thanosgst, @eezacharo @dimitra_stark & the entire gang 💗. Make sure to connect with Cannes Docs’ one-and-only @bab2tt2 💜, who’ll be attending and moderating the Pitching Forum alongside our dear friend and partner @baoshea from @documentaryassociationeurope.

Wishing everyone fruitful encounters and incredible screenings in beautiful Thessaloniki! ☀️🎬
