We didn’t think it was possible to find an area with world-class hiking, scenery AND cuisine, but the Alps had it all.

These photos are just a sample of the incredible moments from our @efadventures group trip through Switzerland, Italy, and France.

Our 12-day tour took us to four spectacular areas: Lausanne and Zermatt in Switzerland, Italy’s Aosta Valley, and Chamonix in France, each offering a completely different experience with a truly local feel.

In Lausanne, we trekked through centuries-old vineyards. Zermatt was our home base for hiking in the shadow of the Matterhorn. A section of the Tour du Mont Blanc was a highlight of our stay in the Aosta Valley. And in Chamonix, hiking high-alpine trails with stunning views of Mont Blanc was the perfect way to end our trip.

Along the way, we also got to enjoy the regional foods, wines and specialties that make each area unique.

A recap of the second half of my travels this summer with @efadventures. From rolling vineyards in northeast Italy to the colorful streets and rugged coastline of Istria, Croatia, every day brought a new adventure. We biked through wine country, hunted for truffles with a local guide and his talented dogs, wandered the charming streets of Rovinj, and wrapped up each evening with unforgettable food and sunsets over the Adriatic. Travel has a way of slowing you down and connecting you to a place in ways you’d never expect, and this trip was full of those moments. If you’re looking for an adventure that blends incredible landscapes, local culture, and unforgettable experiences, check out @efadventures. #EFAdventuresPartner #TravelThatMovesYou

Loved all the elders in Tuscany sitting and watching the world go by & keeping an eye on everyone’s business for gossip!! I am sure there is just as much judgment as there is conversation & excitement.

One of the things we realized on our recent @EFAdventures tour is that a hiking trip to the Alps is so much more than trekking through incredible scenery. (AD)

It’s also an opportunity to learn the history of these places, experience the culture, and make lifelong memories with new, like-minded friends. Our tour took us through Switzerland, Italy, and France, highlighting some of the most historic and spectacular destinations in the Alps.

Around Lake Geneva, we hiked through the centuries-old Lavaux vineyards and sampled the wine. Our local guide shared how generations of families built and continue to care for these remarkable terraced slopes.

In Zermatt, on our breathtaking day-hike to the Matterhorn Basecamp, our hiking guides gave us a whole new appreciation for the early mountaineers who first summited this iconic peak more than 150 years ago.

After touring ancient Roman ruins in the Italian town of Aosta, we enjoyed a traditional polenta dinner while soaking up the charm of our boutique hotel tucked beneath Mont Blanc.

And speaking of Mont Blanc, one of our favorite hikes was along a section of the Tour du Mont Blanc, with stunning views of the massive peak nearly the entire way. A rustic lunch at a rifugio along the trail reminded us that local communities have been welcoming and supporting hikers in these mountains for generations.

Our final stay took us to the other side of Mont Blanc in Chamonix, France. It was tempting to spend all day exploring the shops and cafés, but the mountains were calling. Two final days of hiking in the shadow of Mont Blanc were the perfect ending to our adventure.

As memorable as the scenery, history, and culture were, experiencing it all with our group made the experience even better. By the end of the trip, we were grateful to have spent the week with people who shared our curiosity about the places we visited, and our desire to keep finding new outdoor adventures.

There’s something special about experiencing a place at the pace of a bicycle. 🚲🇫🇷

When @efadventures invited me to ride through Burgundy & the Loire Valley, it felt like the perfect combination of so many things I love, cycling, history, cultural immersion, incredible food, and meaningful connections.

As a father of two with a full-time job, I also appreciated something I don’t always have, the freedom to simply show up and experience the journey. The routes, accommodations, and logistics were taken care of, leaving more time to be present.

We pedaled through vineyards and quiet French villages, explored centuries of history and magnificent châteaux, shared meals, met people along the way, and experienced this beautiful part of France from the seat of a bicycle.

For me, that’s what adventure travel should feel like, not simply passing through a destination, but slowing down enough to connect with it.

Burgundy & Loire Valley, you were unforgettable. ❤️🇫🇷
