Local art doesn't need discovering. It needs a wall and an audience. 🖼️

Nobody's waiting to be found. They're waiting for somewhere to hang the work.

🐸💚 Sometimes the best portraits happen when our pets’ personalities are allowed to shine.

This little frog wasn’t quite what I expected when I started this commission… and I couldn’t love it more. From the oversized frog hood to that perfectly ridiculous tongue, every detail was painted to celebrate the joy, humor, and one-of-a-kind spirit that makes this pup so loved.

If you’ve been thinking about turning your own pet into a timeless work of art—whether they’re dignified, goofy, mischievous, or somewhere in between—I would love to create something that’s uniquely them.

🎨 Pet portrait commissions are currently open! Send me a message to chat about creating a custom painting of your favorite furry (or feathered, or hoofed!) family member.

💚 Which part makes you smile the most—the frog hood or the tongue?

A great evening at It’s a Big Gay Art Show opening reception at SH!FT Gallery (@shift.g.g ), where Harbor Gaze is currently on view.

It was rewarding to see visitors spend time with the painting and engage with the work throughout the evening. One of the things I enjoy most about exhibiting is watching a piece leave the studio and begin its own conversation with viewers. It was also wonderful to connect with fellow artists and see the work of artist friends included in the exhibition.

After the reception, my husband and I made our way to the Ocean Beach Farmers Market to end the night—a perfect close to an evening filled with art, community, and connection.

Congratulations to curator Robert Blume on a wonderful exhibition and thank you for the opportunity to be part of it.

Harbor Gaze remains on view through July 2 and is available for collection through SH!FT Gallery.

If you’re visiting the exhibition, be sure to check out the work of these talented artists as well:
