51 years old.

Most people would probably tell me that wasn’t the age to start fighting.

Maybe they were right.

But on August 16, I stepped into a Muay Thai ring for the first time.

Not because I had anything to prove to anyone else.

Because somewhere along the way, I realized there were still things I needed to prove to myself.

And there was one more reason that night meant more than just a fight.

My 15-year-old son fought too.

Same event.
Same coach.
Father and son.

Two very different journeys that somehow brought us to the same place on the same day.

I trained. I showed up. I stepped through the ropes.

And at 51, I had my first fight.

FIFTY-ONE.

🥊 August 16, 2026.

Some chapters aren’t about how old you are when you start.

They’re about having the courage to start at all.

20 minutes before walking out at @canadianmuaythaiopen, I was standing next to my son @egee_9028 trying to figure out how to stop being a nervous dad.

For 15 years my only job was making sure he did not get hurt. Then you find yourself standing side by side with Thai oil everywhere, wrapped hands, also getting ready to fight.

These are moments you never forget. Never be afraid to try - had I been, I would have missed this opportunity, for myself and for my son.

When we had our son I vowed to myself I would do everything to build memories and be extremely present in his life - I want him to look back and know that I always had his back - that I was always there for him.

I think I am doing a pretty good job 😉🥇

I thought my first fight would be about proving I could actually get in the ring at 51.

Turns out it was about something completely different.

Standing across from my 15-year-old son at weigh-ins, both of us about to fight on the same card, I realized success isn’t what you achieve alone.

It’s who rises with you.

The victory wasn’t the outcome. It was showing my son and myself that growth has no expiration date.

I look towards the future - what else can be accomplished? How much further can I push- truly life is limitless.
