Funny how my 1000th post ended up on my 10th year here on ig. Gonna start out the next 1000 with ten years of my family vacations, holidays, portraits and weddings. Hoping to make just as many awesome memories in the next ten. I love my life. It’s not always easy but it sure is exciting, for better or worse. Here’s to another ten long years, with plenty to show…

In September of 2024 we brought home some fish from the creek up the street, crick fish. We kept 2 of the bunch and gave them a pretty good life, no predators, all the food you could want and an ideal climate year round. Well, one of them got way too big for its tank and we had to make the hard decision to set them free. This one was super aggressive and crazy entertaining, but it was time for him to go on to bigger and better environments. There’s no doubt in my mind that it’s King Of The Crick now. May his reign be long and his belly stay full.

Good job @x_eyit_x for doing the right thing and setting the beast free.

Our next port was Skagway and the wonderful @whitepassrailroad !! The railroad was absolute magic. Everywhere you looked was a view from a postcard. I had noticed how big the mountains seem to be from the ship, but taking the train to the top of them kinda puts everything in a different perspective. The history of this pass is really interesting and you really should look it up, we had a great guide and crew to fill us in on the way. I really felt like this ride encompasses all of the neat stuff you would want from a scenic train ride. All the cool stuff you see in magazines and on the internet that you think “it can’t possibly be that incredible…”, well I’m here to tell you, it’s real. We went through tunnels, across bridges, around bends, straight through the clouds and over the mountain. Insane. Just unbelievable.

Skagway is an adorable town that feels like it fell right out of a history book on the Yukon gold rush. Everywhere you look you can kinda grasp what it looked like in the late 1800s when this place was booming. The bones are there, but now they’re covered in trinkets, novelties and some really cool local art. We ate some seafood, had some fried bread and had a blast walking through the shops.

This port ruled. I like trains.
