It’s strange when your reflection changes faster than the way you see yourself.

Sometimes I still see the guy who weighed almost 300 pounds. The guy who spent years hiding his body, hiding who he was, and afraid to fully be himself.

But lately, I catch myself in the mirror and smile. Because look, there I am.

I’m always happy when I’m surrounded by water. I think I’m a mermaid or I was a mermaid 🧜‍♀️ Lady Michigan makes me feel really small and it makes me put my whole life into perspective…it humbles you and makes you feel almost like you’ve been baptized. I feel born again when I get out of Lady Michigan 🌊
