In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Live Aid, I’ve posted a short clip from my Zoom interview with Kevin Armstrong, who played guitar for Bowie during his legendary set. Hear from Kevin himself about what it was like to perform at one of the most-watched concerts of all time. The clip links to our full interview, originally posted last year, and features supplementary music provided by EgoB. Click below to watch the video. Link in bio.

EgoB’s latest Bowie cover— “Where Are We Now?” gives me the opportunity to link both to his cover and my original written interview with him from all the way back to early last year. This was one my very first interview on my Bowie blog, so check it out! Link in bio.

My Bowie blog’s 2024 review continues with a roundup of interviews I conducted with musicians inspired by Bowie. Earlier, I shared a separate roundup featuring artists who had worked with Bowie himself. Today’s focus is on those who not only release tribute music but also create original work that resonates with Bowie fans. What they all have in common is that they are exceptional artists. Read on to discover their insights, inspirations, and unique takes on Bowie’s enduring impact—plus links to the original interviews and a new video by Marc Lowe. Link in bio!

In my David Bowie blog today, read, “EgoB on EgoB (plus “We Are the Dead” video)” features Belgian musician Roeland Verhaeren, known as EgoB, discussing his approach to covering David Bowie’s “We Are the Dead.” EgoB shares insights into his creative process, emphasizing his use of electronic elements and distortion to add a unique twist to Bowie’s work. He explains how he aims to stay true to the original spirit of Bowie’s music while incorporating his own style. The post also includes a video of EgoB’s cover, highlighting his distinct visual and musical interpretation. Link in bio!

Regular visitors to my David Bowie blog will know that I’m a fan of the multi-talented Belgian musician who goes by EgoB. In addition to his professional musical work and his original music, EgoB is a prolific interpreter of Bowie. Last week, he released three new Bowie covers, and my post today takes a look at one of them. Come back tomorrow, too, to hear from EgoB himself on his technique and choice of songs to cover.
