Ego's is a karaoke dive bar in the back of a parking garage. If that sentence doesn't entice you to visit Ego's, your soul is dead and you should rethink your life choices.

There is some mystery here in the chase to even find Ego's, let alone drum up the courage to sing on one of the most elaborate karaoke stages you'll ever find. The space is, no joke, well within a parking garage beneath a typical office building. Where you might envision a custodial closet or small subterranean utility office, instead picture of the best dives in Texas.

Things have been shaky over the past decade or so, including some structural concerns that threatened Ego's existence. Who knows what the walls will unfurl next, so be sure to grab the mic at Ego's at your next opportunity.

My guests this week on DLM are not teenagers or dirtbags: comedian Josh Gondelman, actor Sean Gunn (his latest, APOFENIACS, is in theaters in NY and LA on Oct 2) and filmmaker/actor Greg Vrotsos (his movie, SITUATIONS, is in NY this weekend and touring the country).

Listen wherever you get your podcast entertainment!

Opening and ending shots were grabbed at Ego’s in Austin and Brickyard Pub in Hollywood.
