Jiu-jitsu checks off so many boxes, such as self-defense, physical fitness, and mental health. It cultivates core values such as humility, respect, discipline, commitment, and the courage to do hard things. It promotes creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving under pressure. But none of this is possible without perhaps the most important thing: ✅COMMUNITY. Nothing but love and respect for the ladies and gentlemen of 0600. Life is better when you train. Come join us 🙂.

Last night’s Belt Promotion was POWERFUL!

All belt ceremonies are meaningful, but this one had some really special elements to it.

• 1/3 of the belts awarded went to women.

• 2 blue belts were awarded to teens who started with us as little kids.

• 1 purple belt was awarded to a 65-year-old.

• Coach Ry Guy — who started with us at nine years old in 2014 — earned his black gi.

• 2 coaches — coach RC and Coach Jon — earned new ranks.

• We awarded brown belts to people who have been training 12 (Melis McHugh) and 21 years (Ryan Peters).

These are all signs that the environment we’ve created is a safe, supportive, inclusive, and transformative one. A place that makes you more capable, confident, and resilient.

A place where people from all walks of life, all backgrounds, and all abilities — all with different goals —can come together and grow.

Life is better when you train.
