I won this book a while ago, after the author kindly did a giveaway, but was too poorly to share it at the time. I just started this yesterday and I’m hooked! So far, the characters are complex, believable and oh so intriguing… Absolutely loving The Wives of Halycon - thank you Eirinie Lapidaki for sending it out to me and signing it too!

That’s a wrap on Durham book festival 2026 - and what a weekend! Thank you to everyone who visited us at the shop and @gala_durham - your support means more than you can know. Selling books is what we love and holy moly it’s what we did! Highlights from our big weekend include - Emma and Jessica taking an actual BREAK in between shows - stacks of Lucy Foley and Susanna Clarke - our beautiful bookshop day board (thanks to all who celebrated with us!) - signed copies from the completely brilliant @holliepoetry and @michaelpedersenoyster (available at the shop now!)- the fantastic Northern Fantasy event we hosted (Caly is now a convert)- all the gorgeous stacks of books we sold - Yes, Emma did get to meet Sarah Hall! - hiding from Neil Tennant fans (you know what you did) and meeting Christopher Eccleston (screaming, crying, throwing up and dancing with joy). We’re closing a little earlier than usual this evening (5.30pm) to help us recover a bit from our beautifully mad and busy weekend - please forgive us. But we’re back to normal from Tuesday 8am - 7pm. Thank you all again!

I’m actually amazed I read anything in September, as we literally got the keys to the new house at the end of August and is an ongoing project 😅🙈

Have you read any of these? Would love to know your thoughts! 💭

What a stunning eve at @collecteddurham 💛 thank you so much to this wonderful (women owned + specialising in women authored) bookshop for having me, to the angel of the north @eirinie.writes for being the best host AGAIN and to everyone who came out. It means so much to me to get talk with readers about my books and share my passion so THANK YOU 🤩 📚❤️

🏛️ HEROES OR ZEROES? 🏛️

Last night we celebrated the publication day of the fantastic ‘Heroes or Zeroes?’ @tiffinlizzy’s follow up to the bestselling ‘Bad Girls of Ancient Greece’!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, to @eirinie.writes for being a brilliantly knowledgeable chair and to Lizzy for allowing us to host her launch night, AND to nerd out about Greek mythology with her!

We have signed copies of both of Lizzy’s books in store to nab this weekend! 🖋️📚
