B2B alongside my brother @eiros_st in Antwerp for Abstract Session #6, as part of @planned_for_demolition (at the former Van Laere site).

Hard work and good laughs, wrapping up the third joint wall of our summer tour. Absolute pleasure sharing the weekend with such top-tier people from the international scene.

The former Van Laere company site is scheduled to be demolished at the end of the year. Before the buildings disappear forever, the organisers of Abstract Sessions made it possible for around 100 artists to transform the entire site into an art gallery.

I had the pleasure of spending four days at „Twee Kranen“ in Zwijndrecht as the resident photographer. I selected a few images that tell the story of the beauty of the site and its transformation, from sunrise to sundown.
Planned for Demolition is open to visitors from 1–4 October. Get your tickets and see it for yourself.

«Es la primera vez que me siento en todo el día.»

Ese suspiro no es casual. Es la ansiada tregua de quien, por fin, ha logrado aparcar a los niños en el laberinto de agua, al otro lado de la valla, donde el chillido es constante pero ya no es problema suyo. Benidorm es esto: la promesa de un descanso que se conquista con cloro y la arquitectura del agotamiento ajeno.

Frente a la utopía de neón y los paquetes vacacionales, esta intervención se sitúa en la trastienda de la fiesta, en esa cara B de la estancia vacacional donde el paisaje idílico se desmorona. De ahí el título de la obra, una referencia directa al propio resort acuático a cuya sombra se levanta este muro.

Un ejercicio de abstracción atravesado por tonos flúor y acentos ácidos que no busca adorar ni adornar el paraíso de plástico, sino digerir sus restos y su fricción. El choque entre la verticalidad de los bloques de apartamentos y el derecho mínimo a sentarse, respirar y dejar que el muro absorba el resto del ruido.

Esta pieza vuelve a reunir a Escobar y Eiros, amigos y compañeros que trabajan asiduamente juntos, firmando una nueva entrega dentro de su proyecto conjunto 'Fluor Games'.

From Spain to Southend on Sea to slap some paint and have a blast.

A couple of days of travel, paint, and laughs in fast forward. What a wild city and what an absolute banger of a festival @southendcityjam. Thanks to the crew for making it all so easy, and special s/o to my brother for making this weekend legendary.
