The copy of Philosopher's stone featured is really rather battered and, some pages are so damaged that they can't be read anymore, but I don't have the heart to throw it out. Last year I bought a new copy to 'replace' this one so that I can finally read the series (I'm up to book 4 now)

Does anyone else keep really damaged books or is that just me? -

Day 22 of the April Bookish Words challenge is Trilogy and as we all know there is only one trilogy "to bring them all and in the darkness bind them" - but I've posted that already so it was a call between the Gormenghast trilogy and Alexander Dumas' La Reine Margot trilogy (Marguerite de Valois, Chicot the Jester and the Forty-Five Guardsmen). I love Dumas' story-telling. This is almost as good as the D'Artagnan trilogy - and that's saying something. ♞

These days everything is a trilogy but to me there is no consistency. Inkheart, Hunger Games, Maze Runner all contain moments of brilliance but also too much very poor writing. #justsaying

Sebastian Horsley's incredible autobiography Dandy in the Underworld is quite extraordinary writing. A tour de force of self-obsession, veering from narcissism to self-loathing, self-aggrandisement to self-effacement. Always surprising, always playing with the English language. Gross, honest, playful. Everything.

day 3: diverse books #gobbledupbooks one thing I really liked about tcc is that hermione is black. Even though I imagined her white when reading the 7 other books, I think it was a great change.

Day 18: Used Books #augustofpages I got these books for £3 in total from a charity shop! I know, it's shocking! They're in perfect condition and the special edition breaking dawn comes with a CD and poster! Idk why they were so cheap!
