Pictures from the Johnnycake 5 miles on Sunday!! Johnnycake has a special place in my heart because it was the first race I ever did in my life and it was only a 5k!(3.1 miles) I finished at 44mins, 5 mins faster than last year! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I don’t know who’s doing better than me but I’m doing better than the me last year!! 🎉🥳 #thisiscleveland #cleveland #runnerscommunity #runmotivation #clevelandphotography

Awesome job to all of our CLE OCR teammates that went out and completed 17.76 miles today for Americas 250th Birthday! We had a nice group meet up at Squires Castle to take on the challenge together while others got it done on their own. Happy 4th of July!

Here's something we don't talk about enough: Everyone fails obstacles. Beginners, veterans, and yes, even the athletes who have stood on our podiums.

Failure isn't a sign that you don't belong. It's a sign that the obstacle is actually hard, and that you were brave enough to attempt it.

For our competitive racers: a missed obstacle is just data. It tells you exactly what to train next. The gap between you and that 100% completion band might be two inches of grip strength. Go find it.

For our open racers: the fear of failing in front of people is the number one thing that stops people from signing up. But every person you see in this video showed up and threw themselves into something that scared them. That's not failure. That's the whole point.

You don't have to be ready. You just have to sign up.
I know September is still a ways off. But take advantage of early bird pricing and go ahead and lock in your spot now.

See you at the start line.

Most people see a rig and immediately think "I can't do that."

Pac Man has humbled a lot of people the past two races. But here's the thing. Once the technique clicks, it's actually one the most fun obstacles we've ever built.

It's not just about strength. It's about figuring it out.

Come try it on September 19th.💪💪

First Backyard OCR workout of the season on the East Side at EJ’s House! 6 of us came out to test our speed, strength and agility. The mud was plentiful and a great practice for how Garrettsville Spartan will be 😂

Failed an obstacle? Good. That means you showed up, gave it everything, and learned something.

Every elite racer you see crushing obstacles? They failed them too. Over and over...until they didn't.

Midwest OCR is tough by design. Fall. Get up. Come back stronger. That's the whole point.

The only real fail is not trying.

It’s okay to fail an obstacle. It means you’re trying.
And trying puts you ahead of every single person who stayed home.

Success starts with showing up.💪👊

@kaluapig007 - “No way in hell would I run a 100k!” Direct quote from me 3 years ago (and like every day since then) Well.......guess I meant i wouldn’t run it “IN” hell, because yesterday it happened. I Conquered the castle and completed my first 100k. Over 14 hours. Had friends and help along the way. I got messages throughout the day, ran into friends (ej actually sprinted on the road to catch me and give me nerds!) for support and Evan paced my for lap 5 and Meg Ishee helped me finish lap 6 by keeping me going. Weather and course couldn’t have been more perfect too. I also got knighted on lap 2 by climbing an extra hill. I even got Evan knighted by climbing the same hill again. This race is by far my favorite 50k so I figured if I was gonna attempt something like this, it would be here. Big shout out to Jay Toole for hosting this very well organized race every year.
