//每個時代都重寫童話，並決定誰能成為主角，誰的幸福被認可。如果香港有一則屬於自己的童話，它將是什麼樣貌？//

This event centers on the publication and exchange of yyin. volume 2: MONSTER. The editorial team will share the process behind the second volume—from concept and structure to production—alongside reflections on its presentation in Tokyo and exchanges at international art book fairs. Participating artists and designers will introduce their works, responding to the monster as a manifestation of yin: an unstable force shaped by transformation and ambiguity.

The event will conclude with a Q&A session and open exchange, inviting readers to engage directly with the creators. A final on-site pre-order offer will be available.

Niche of yyin.｜Ruins: III doses
by Che Yeh × IChieh Chen

Che Yeh and IChieh Chen use three fictional pills — SYMBIOT-hypha™, PHARMAKON-EAR™, and ANOGEN™ — to explore the boundaries between control, transformation, and sensation.
Structured like a pharmaceutical guide, the work unfolds from unboxing to dosage notes, reimagining how we experience the body: paralysis awakens awareness, imbalance disrupts order, and the loss of gender turns the body into a limitless “monster.”

Developed through a mycelium-like collaboration, Ruins: III doses lets a yin-like narrative grow — soft, unruly, and alive.

Che Yeh @che.yeh

Artist working with temporal and sculptural media, focusing on moments of encounter between bodies and how they are inscribed by contemporary social conditions.

IChieh Chen @eje.cc

Designer working across mythology, collage, and nonlinear narrative. Her work combines elements of architecture and semiotics to deconstruct fragments of everyday life into visual stories that blur reality and fantasy.

The second volume of yyin. adopts an open-spine Swiss binding, continuing the exposed structure from the first issue to allow the book to open completely flat — revealing the rhythm and breath of its form.

In resonance with the theme of the “Clam Fairy,” the inner pages are printed on smoother paper stock, evoking the delicate, moist texture hidden within a shell. The cover simulates the tactile quality of human skin, blurring the boundary between vision and touch, and inviting an intimate connection between the reader’s body and the book itself.

Printed with two custom Pantone colors, the design continues yyin.’s distinctive chromatic language, weaving material, ink, and structure into a sensorial expression of femininity, transformation, and the monstrous.

Two months ago, we held an in-person exchange session for yyin. volume 2, bringing together eight creative groups of participating artists and designers. The event took an open format, allowing everyone to freely share their creative concepts and visions for how their works might take shape in the publication. We also invited designers from the first issue to join and offer their insights and feedback on design approaches.

Being able to gather so many talented designers and creators in one space for such open discussion was a truly rare and valuable experience. We hope to continue fostering more creative dialogues like this in the future.
