Small back story......I had an intimate white wedding a day to my trad day.
.
I didn't want to bother anyone at all...just my CBM @jummie.royal and best man
.
Little did I know this beautiful people @setemi_the_alaga @labule_alaga @ejide_alaga @_gbemmi planned a whole surprise bridesmaids for me. They even deliberately didn't tell my baby @kudaisiadesewa but still made her a dress.
.
Adesewa had exam that day but came for photoshoot.

The first surprise I had no glimpse of. Thank you for givkng me a beautiful day..
.
This is supposed to be a morning post but I no wait again😂😂😂

A standing ovation to @oppyjay_alaga

Your wedding was a beautiful reminder that culture is not meant to be rushed. Every rite was given its place, every moment was intentional, and you proved that you truly love and respect the Alaga profession.

This is the standard every Alaga should uphold.

It honestly baffles me when an Alaga gets married and allows the traditional engagement to be reduced to “Alaga, you have just 1 hour.” If we don’t honour our profession on our own special day, how do we expect others to value it?
The same rites you ask to be skipped on your own wedding day are the ones you’ll passionately perform at someone else’s wedding🙄

If we, as custodians of this culture, don’t honour it ourselves, how can we expect others to?

To every Alaga who proudly preserves our Tradition and remains intentional about this profession, thank you. Your consistency keeps our culture alive.

Let’s preserve our culture, respect the tradition, and practice what we proudly preach.

Being an Alaga is not just “talking on the mic” it takes energy, preparation, presence, and a whole lot behind the scenes 💯
So if you’ve ever wondered what to gift them for their birthday, appreciation, or just because… here are thoughtful things they’ll actually need and use 🎤✨
Save this for later… you’ll definitely need it 😉
And tag someone who needs to see this 👇🏽
