Some days just remind you how bloody lucky you are to have certain people in your life.

Palm Tree Festival was an absolute dream. Incredible music, gorgeous company and one of those days you just wish would go on a little longer.

The lovely @aesha_jean invited us along, and I got to bring my wonderful LA friends together for a brilliant day.

Aesha and I have never actually done a Below Deck season together, but we’ve always got on like a house on fire. Probably because we’re both a bit feral and unapologetically ourselves.

I’ve always believed that good energy attracts good things, and she’s living proof of that. Couldn’t happen to a nicer human.

And of course, the wonderful Scott, who’s just as much of a gem. Love these two.

Honestly, what a bloody brilliant weekend. LA, you’ve been very good to me.💋

Sept 2026: I spent this month pulling myself out of a dark place. Some of you know that August was very tough on ya girl. It got worse before it got better bc I was the victim of an emotional vampire/ Angels fan/ tall guy with a J name. 😒 i knew I wouldn’t be able to pull myself out of it unless I took some drastic measures.

Sooooo I tried all of the tools in my tool shed (bc tbh I’ve had to remodel my mind palace many times) and I can say that I’m mostly on the mend. Deep feelings still exist but I’m working through them. In the meantime I did all the things so as not to stay in this yucky place. Grateful to my peeps and my positive coping mechanisms!

Depression is hard y’all. It’s draining. It’s a Sisyphean struggle. Check in on your friends.

How do you even begin to describe a friendship that has lasted through so many seasons of life? Short answer: You don’t. So I’ll keep it simple- you’ve always had my back @chefmylaleigh 💜 I love you so much. You deserve only the *best.* Thank you for including me in your life more than 25 years. We’ve both grown so much from being college roommates ☺️ Happy birthday. (Also, thanks for that one time you went to Charleston with me even tho all the mosquitoes bit you and we counted 36 bites oof. 🦟 That ghost tour and kayaking with dolphins were hella cool tho right? And the best seafood and soul food. And me trying to do cartwheels on Sullivan Island and failing so badly. And Coke pie at Jestine’s which has sadly since closed. And the mosquitos).

June 2026, just like me, you were a lot. 🤣😮‍💨 Buttttttt you reminded me that life was meant to be *lived* not just witnessed. I came off a 4-day stint in Riverside at dad’s bc of the possible chemical spill. Started a new job in LB. Endured 2 back to back sad anniversaries. Met up with the best of the best for a joyous Pride night. Spent time in one of my favorite neighborhoods of LA with a grad school friend. Attended the ordination anniversary, birthday, and wedding anniversary of my beloved Auntie. Had a heart scare and was brought by ambo to the hospital where I was dx with SVT. And a week later, celebrated my 44th with some of my nearest and dearest. 💖 Then spent the rest of the month learning all the things at work and eating copious amounts of meat (apparently). Also, something I planted grew into a thing! 🌺 I felt all the things and did many of the things. July is for rest.
