On September 18, IGR-Beirut hosted the opening of the photography exhibition “A Realm of My Senses – Niemeyer’s Legacy Through the Lenses of Nadine Ashkar”, organized by the Embassy of Brazil in partnership with the Niemeyer Heritage Foundation in Tripoli. The exhibition remains open to the public until October 10, 2025, offering a unique opportunity to experience this artistic journey firsthand. As part of this initiative, the artist will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales to two Lebanese-Brazilian associations dedicated to women’s empowerment: @elas.ngo and @grupoamizadebrasil. Through a striking black-and-white series, Lebanese photographer Nadine Ashkar reimagines Oscar Niemeyer’s unfinished modernist masterpiece in Tripoli, exploring the profound dialogue between architecture and the female body.

Cultural Gathering at the Residence of the Brazilian Embassy This morning, the Brazilian Ambassador’s wife, Mrs. Ivana Diniz, graciously welcomed the spouses of diplomats to a special event celebrating culture, tradition, and the strength of women. The gathering featured talented Brazilian entrepreneurs, most of them members of the ELAS Organization, who proudly presented their handmade crafts and traditional Brazilian cuisine. It was a beautiful exchange of culture and a moment to highlight the creativity and resilience of Brazilian women in Lebanon. Congratulations to all the participants for bringing flavor, art, and identity to this inspiring event! Special thanks for Mrs. Ivana Diniz.
