✨All you can eat Mexican buffet✨ Welcome to my All You Can Eat series! Today’s cuisine is Mexican. @elcomaldowntown in downtown offers a weekend buffet from 10 AM to 3 PM—$34.99 for adults, $16.99 for kids and seniors. They have a lots of juicy meats and even shrimp as protein option. I saw in others post that they have tamales and eggs, but they were were missing. Some dishes were still being prepared(we went there at 10am) so going later might be better. The dessert selection is small, but they've with flan and conchas, and drinks like coffee, horchata water. El Comal Downtown is a newly opened Mexican restaurant in Vancouver offering a delicious Mexican brunch buffet on Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm! At $34.99 for adults and $16.99 for children and seniors, the buffet itself was such a great value with the large variety of food options. The restaurant is family-owned, the food was fantastic and the flavours were authentic. It transported me back to our last all-inclusive vacation in Mexico…but better!! Just a short walk from the waterfront skytrain station, you should definitely check out El Comal the next time you’re in the downtown area or are visiting Vancouver! @elcomaldowntown is grand opening this Saturday March 1st! They took over where Toloache used to be. They are also continuing the AYCE Brunch Buffet on Sundays* for $34.99/person. The buffet is available from 10am-3pm. ⠀ ⠀ Canapes will also be served for their grand opening event which will be from 6-11pm and everyone will get a FREE cocktail! 🍸⠀ ⠀ None of the food was labelled when I was there so I wasn't quite sure what I was eating at the time but everything was tasty. They will add food labels for the grand opening. There were quite a few meat options ranging from pork to chicken and beef but it's definitely not vegetarian friendly. Everything was very moist and juicy! There were also rice, tamales, eggs, chilaquiles, shrimp ceviche, and chicken enmoladas. There was pork chicharron in a sauce which was really good! ⠀ ⠀ For the drinks, I tried the lemonade and the horchata and there was also coffee available. The horchata was not the best though. They were quick to clear empty plates and the hot food section was always being cleaned or refilled. ⠀ ⠀ There were only 3 dessert options to choose from and conchas so don't expect much there. El Comal has a new location in Downtown Vancouver offering Mexican eats in a spacious restaurant. I dropped by to try their Sunday brunch buffet that sported a wide range of dishes including: 1. Drinks - Hibiscus, Lemonade and Horchata 2. Rice & Beans 3. Mexican Eggs & Tamales 4. Rajas & Mexican Style Wild Mushrooms 5. Chilaquiles Rojos & Verdes 6. Chicken Enmoladas & Ribs 7. Pork Chicharron in Red Sauce & Beef Birria 8. Cochinita Pibil & Chorizo 9. Shrimp Ceviché 10. Chicken Pazole 11. Dulce de Leche, Flan, Conchas & Fresh Fruit Food was well-prepared and always plentiful. Loved the tamales as they were tender and moist. Meats were also tender and not dried out. Tostadas, hard tacos and soft tortillas were all available. All the fixins' too including cilantro, onion, salsa and queso fresco.
