The Turtlenecks return to the stage for another charity fundraiser, bringing with them an unprecedented mix of music and comedy. What a better way to spend a Sunday summer afternoon than to sit back and enjoy a mezcal margarita whilst you soak up the entertainment and sunshine on the rooftop at The Sultan Room on July 9th!

Singer @meredithoconnor and actress @eleaeaston are set to co-host the event in support of @everytown .

Everytown is the largest gun violence prevention organization in America. They work heavily with elected officials to demand change. Their mission is to end gun violence and provide a support network for survivors. They provide survivors with legal representation, emotional support and access to a community to help them get through their trauma.

The event on Sunday 9th July, will be a mixture of stand-up comedy, improv, sketch, and live music. And what a line up we have for you!!

With comedy performances from @youjeanchang, @zoe.rosenberger, @jlyoungcomedy @EleaEaston, @peypeysmith , @perpetualcraver, @meredithoconnor , @the.unruly1 , @zacharygoldmine , @afishcalledalice , @notkerryann and @lindyyy777 .

And with musical rifts from @zardonr, @billeybristol and @iamxavierwhite .

YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO MISS THIS!!!

Aim is to raise $1000 for Everytown in donations and ticket sales… Even if you can’t make it to the event, please feel free to donate at our Just Giving page for the event (link in bio).

Every emotion we experience is valid and essential to being a human. If we were never sad, would we truly appreciate our happiness? I’m a happy person but I sometimes get upset just like everyone else and I have suffered from depression a few times in my life. I found this picture of me I took a few months ago, and there was something about it that when I looked passed the fact that it’s a photo of me I could see the beauty through the tears and through the vulnerability.
*
Recently I’ve been getting really fed up with the fact that we are all feeling this pressure on social media to constantly make everyone believe that our lives are so perfect at all times. I hate this. It’s such a misrepresentation. Sometimes my life is not perfect and right now, I’ll be honest with you, I’m struggling. I can’t seem to get it together. I want to succeed in my career but I feel like I don’t have the capacity, my love life is falling apart, I feel like I’ve lost my mojo and any kind of direction I once had. Next week is my birthday, why is it that I feel like it’s looming over me like I’m a failure for not having achieved anything I wanted to in the last year? I feel stuck. I feel helpless. I feel vulnerable. Why am I only focusing on the things I haven’t got? It’s just not good for me. Or for anyone. I know I’m not the only one that feels like this. I know I won’t feel like this forever but right now this sucks and I am going to do everything in my power to turn my life around and make it the life that I actually want to live.

❤️ ♥️ 💜 Look after your personal well-being and make sure you’re being true to yourself in the actions you take when you’re with others. Don’t let anyone take away your worth. If anyone doesn’t like you for speaking your mind, they are not worth having in your life. With a smile, wish them well and let them go.❤️ ♥️ 💜*
