TUNE IN 🚨📡

This month @electrafrique is back for our monthly on @orokoradio with a the immensely gifted @sabineblaizin. She’s been blessing the scene for years as a DJ, producer and la el head for @oyasound, bringing African diasporic music with a Haitian touch to the fore. Her sets are spiritual moving you not just in the body but in the spirit too. We’re blessed to count her as our friend and family for many years and it’s an absolute pleasure to have her host this radio show episode.

She’s recently released a new album called Tonight We Fly (Aswé A Na Vole) so go check out Oyasound’s Bandcamp!!!

Big up massive to the whole gang @rinsefrance @rinse.fm for repping our music all these years out there. 30 years in the game, few can challenge this level of longevity, and that is all due to your relentless support to those who take risks, innovate, and make this music scene the diverse and lively community it is. Big up! We at @electrafrique are very proud to be a part of this journey!!!

Blessings from Dakar, Maputo and beyond 🖤🇸🇳🇲🇿

TUNE IN 📡✨
.
@electrafrique is back on @rinsefrance today at 17H CET with a very special guest, live and direct from Lagos 🇳🇬
.
Our good brother @_djkhalipha, one of the pioneers of Nigeria’s cruise scene, joins us this Sunday with one hour of frantic, upbeat mixes that are typical of the genre, which is taking the Lagos underground (and TikTok) dance scene by storm…
.
As Khalifa explains in a recent @resident_advisor article, the music is meant to “meet the people’s dance moves” with “only touches of voices and melody to spice it up”. Cruise emerged on the streets of Lagos as some people are getting tired of the slow and super clean vibes of afrobeats and are longing for something more upbeat that really shakes your body. It blends a whole lot of different African electro styles, from kuduro, to coupe décalé, amapiano and afro house, with its own secret twists to it, including speed…
.
It’s an interesting evolution in a country dominated by afrobeats, which mirrors also some of what’s happening in clubs elsewhere, where the tempo seems to be definitely on the rise, reaching easily 140-150 beats per minute.
.
Don’t miss the show, soyez verrouillés!!!
