no extensions were used in the making of this transformation. 👀

that’s right… no extensions. no lightener.

so how did we get this much dimension + movement?

strategic color placement, depth in all the right places, and a whole lot of intention😉 ( thanks to @redkenpro )

sometimes the biggest transformations don’t require going lighter. they just require the right plan!

lowlights are sooooo useful when balancing blondes 🙌🏼

the backstory—

my guest came in wanting to add some lowlights to blend her harsh regrowth + go a little darker for fall.

after consulting, we both agreed that a full head of lowlights, a gloss + a trim would be the best option for her hair health.

she did have some fears, though.

as a blonde, it’s scary to hear the word “lowlight.” there’s a common misconception that lowlights will make you feel darker everywhere — but that’s not always the case.

when formulated + placed correctly, lowlights are such an amazing tool for creating balance without sacrificing brightness.

there were really 3 ways we could approach this:
add brightness to the top, add depth to the bottom, or do both.

in this case, because her ends were already compromised, i chose not to add any lightener. instead, we’re focusing on creating depth + letting her hair get healthier moving forward.

✔️ grow out her natural hair more seamlessly
✔️ avoid adding lightener to over-processed ends
✔️ focus on haircuts + treatments

a little less blonde, a lot more balance — and a much happier head of hair.

hair color doesn’t have to be scary. it’s meant to make you feel good 😋
