I did my first turn en pointe! 🩰🎉

Such a small moment... but it felt like a huge milestone.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing all the hours of strengthening, balance work, and technique start to come together. It definitely wasn’t perfect, but that’s what makes the journey so much fun.

One turn down. Many more to go. Here’s to celebrating the little wins that keep us moving forward. ✨

What’s a milestone in your training that you’ll never forget? Let me know below! 👇

Confession: partnering from the girl’s perspective is way harder than I expected 🩰😅

After 30 years of dancing the male role, I thought I had a pretty good understanding of partnering.

Then I switched sides.

Turns out being the follow isn’t just standing there and getting moved around. It requires an incredible amount of strength, timing, body awareness, trust, and precision. You’re constantly making micro-adjustments while trying to look completely effortless.

The better the partnering looks, the less you realize how much work both dancers are doing.

Every time I try something new in ballet, I gain a deeper appreciation for the dancers who make it look easy. This was definitely one of those moments.

To all the ballerinas out there: I see you now. Respect. 👏
