Sitting in the car on the way in this year, someone on BRC radio said “we are willing participants in the uncomfortableness” and it’s true - this isn’t an easy experience.

We spend a crazy amount of time, effort and money to go out into the desert for 8 days and struggle to stay alive.

And yet, it is still the most whimsical, magical and joyous place on earth. I just can’t get enough of Black Rock City and no I won’t stop talking about it 🤣

I’m so creatively energised right now I can’t sit still. I’m counting down until I’m crusty AF again.

My rock, my best friend, my everything.

Thank you for helping me put my silly little boots on when I insist on aesthetics over comfort, thank you for always bringing enough hydration for the two of us, thank you for letting me be passenger princess when I have had enough of pedalling (my e-bike lol), thank you for not judging me when I eat 15 Oreos for breakfast and thank you for always being ready to go home at the same time as me - even though deep down I’m sure sometimes it’s only because you know I would get lost if I went by myself 🤣

The coolest and sweetest girl ever. I met @theashlynshow back in 2024 at the festival her and her partner run in Cali, later joined her entrepreneur mastermind program, and we serendipitously ended up at the same camp this year. You’re literally the best Ash 🥹🩷

This was our first time doing build and it was such an incredible experience. We arrived to a literal patch of dust, and helped turn it into a sanctuary.

I also finally received my playa name during build - Dark Matter. No one really knows exactly what dark matter is - you can’t see it, but without it, the universe as we know it wouldn’t hold together.

Apparently, that was me during camp build. Quietly filling the gaps, holding shit together and keeping our little universe

Alright I think I’m ready for a recap.

I don’t believe I’ve been to a place that makes me feel more inspired than this one. Witnessing the depth and intention of human creation here is unmatched. Each year I go, the more I feel I can give and contribute to this collective experience. Each person bringing and demonstrating their unique gifts. What they actually WANT to share, not what their job forces them to produce in the real world. And somehow, all of the work still gets done. Things get built, systems run, people get fed, massaged, medicated; we get to learn new things from each other every day. We get to dance and frolic and be fully authentic. And despite many days of tough conditions and minimal sleep/food/water, I still feel more energized and alive after than when I arrived.

@elementumcamp I don’t know of a tribe I would rather live this challenging, beautiful, awe-inspiring experience with. Each of you have changed my life for the better; this is just the beginning. We are most definitely onto something.

sidequests are genuinely my favorite thing. thought i was the CEO of sidequesting, turns out i gotta hand over my title - my friend @claudinelanglois is the hardest sidequester i know, so i'm now VP.🤝idk if there’s already a “sidequester” camp at the burn, but who’s joining us if we were to create one? heheheh

My third Burn.

There’s something about returning to the same place every year that creates an anchor point in time.

Who was I when I stood here a year ago? And who am I now?

My first two Burns felt largely like celebration. This one felt like ceremony.

This has been the hardest year of my life, and returning to the playa showed me just how much it changed me. I’m softer in some places, stronger in others. More empathetic. More compassionate. And I think, a better human because of what I’ve moved through.

This reel will show you a lot of dancing and celebration… because those are the moments we tend to pull out our phones for.

What it won’t show you are the deep conversations, the synchronicities, the generosity of strangers and the spontaneous moments of magic.

Like my bike.

The bike I paid for fell through, so for the first few days I relied on others for rides. Then one night, a man on an art car asked why I didn’t have a bike. I told him what happened.

“I’ll have a bike for you by Thursday.”

He gave me a description, a location and the lock code.

And by Thursday… there was my bike.

People say “the playa provides.”

But the playa doesn’t provide.

People do.

One sunrise, I sat with a 20+ year Burner in his 60s and a virgin Burner experiencing her first year. The three of us agreed on one thing:

Burning Man restores our faith in the human spirit.

For seven days, we experience what happens when strangers take care of strangers and kindness expects nothing in return.

Maybe that’s why we put ourselves through the dust, work, exhaustion and chaos.

We get to practice another way of being human… and then decide how much of it we bring home.

And to @elementumcamp , thank you for creating such a sacred and safe home for us to return to every day.

The playa provides because people provide.

The Burn ends.
