Many of you may have recently seen the heartbreaking news regarding Baraka/Freddie Jax Nomad @frankiejaxnomad being detained by ICE. He previously performed with us last year alongside R.A.P. Ferreira @hipcatscience and he is someone we truly consider part of The Plug family.

Before everything unfolded, Baraka had been scheduled to join us on June 26th in Corvallis alongside Esh & The Isolations and Quomni at The Brass Monkey. While the circumstances surrounding the show have now changed, we still want to use this event as an opportunity to support him and help raise awareness and funds for his ongoing legal and personal expenses.

With Baraka’s partner Bailey’s blessing, a portion of ticket sales from all Plug Presents events throughout the month of June will be donated directly toward Baraka’s GoFundMe to help support legal expenses, commissary funds, travel, animal care, bills, and ongoing support efforts while his loved ones work to bring him home. A percentage of proceeds from our raffles and silent auction at our own fundraiser will be donated toward the gofundme

There has also been a call for character reference letters for Baraka. Whether you know him personally or through community, supporters are being encouraged to write letters highlighting his impact, character, and support for his release. Information on where to send digital or physical letters can be found through his page and shared posts.

We are currently looking for an artist to join the June 26th lineup in support of this event and cause. If you or someone you know would be interested in performing, please reach out by DMing us.

The GoFundMe has also been added to The Plug bio Linktree for anyone wishing to donate directly or learn more about the situation.
