What a wonderful vibrant time at @samasamafest in Union City! To keep the celebration of Filipino American History Month going, definitely drop by Itliong Middle School’s event. Looking back, @ameliaandadinah and I were so blessed to have Larry Itliong’s son join us and share his inspiring memories. It’s so heartwarming to see Union City celebrating Fil-Am pride and representation over two back-to-back weekends! WE DID THAT!!! YAHEARD! @samasamafest THANK YOU

@ulocandeedo @ej.ski I’m so grateful to have worked with you two to build this special occasion for our communities. Paulo thank you for believing and trusting in me to step up to the plate and handle what needs to be handled.

EJ you KILLED it up there and I’m in awe how you made magic with quick problem solving on the spot. I’m grateful to have gone through this process with you and been able to get to know you and grow with you in a scenario that required us to make a lot happen out of thin air.

Paulo doesn’t like the limelight but he’s gon get some here: our LEADER and the one who made it ALL happen. Thank you for handling all the behind the scenes no one ever sees with all the logistics, stakeholders, putting out fire after fire, YOU made it happen regardless of all the setbacks and circumstances thrown your way. As we cultivate the foundation for the nonprofit, it starts with YOU and you are setting the tone. A small thank you isn’t enough to give credit to what you do.

Thank you both for teaching me a lot during this past month that we put this together. Can’t wait to grow with yall more.

Shoutout @ernalicious @marc_santa22 for the help day of operations!! I appreciate the help my guys!!

Thank you my brother @kuyabkreates and my parents for helping hold down NLF. Shoutout all the family who came through. Shoutout all the people who pulled up rocking NLF! It was really great to see Ash who we met at FAHM Jam, might have been 2 years ago and the support never goes unnoticed from him and his family. Really awesome to be able to catch up with him. Shoutout @officialkiyomi for rocking the stage and killing in front of her hometown and made time to walk through the entire event and be with the people! Shoutout all the food/retail vendors, organizations, sponsors, stage crew, custodian crew, EMTs, law enforcement, Union City representatives, Union Landing & all involved.

And shoutout to everyone who came. I heard a lot of great feedback that people want us to do more because of how much they enjoyed it. Made me happy. Gratitude to have helped put together an event that positively impacted your life. Love.

🌺 2 EVENTS IN ONE WEEKEND! PART 1: MAGKAISA, ELK GROVE! 🇵🇭

Solo event for me! My kiddo was sad she couldn’t be my helper, but school comes first! ❤️

Made a quick stop in Hercules and had a great xhat with Faye, then took the scenic Highway 160 route to Elk Grove. The Delta was beautiful, but I had to keep my eyes on the road or risk ending up in a ditch! 🤣🌿

Setup turned into chitchatting with @elevatedgemstones and then with early customers. My hula sister Carina stopped by with her sister,Jane and pup, Onyx. 🐶❤️ Meeting new people brings interesting conversations, including one about Filipino finger-toes! 🤣 You never know where a conversation in the Wai Knot booth will take you!

🥹 Heart-melting moment: @koraleighhh, whom I met at ʻOri Nui SF, drove 40 minutes just to visit my booth! My heart! 🥰 Maraming Salamat/Mahalo Nui, Kora!

😂 Tallest highlight: Meeting Benjamin, who stands 6’7”! He had to duck just to enter my booth. Good thing my fan wasn’t on, or he might’ve left with a new haircut! 🤣

And the BEST ending? Laughing until we snorted with my vendor sisters, @elevatedgemstones and @myd_creation_studio ❤️ Nothing beats good conversations and even better friendships!

Wish I took more pictures, but we made plenty of memories! Maraming Salamat to everyone who stopped by and supported Wai Knot! 🌺

Stay tuned for PART 2: Sama Sama in Union City! 🇵🇭❤️
