Wednesday evening, I welcomed Tricoci University students to Elevated Image Suites for a little beauty business behind the scenes! ✨ We toured the spaces, talked about the possibilities after beauty school and answered questions about booth rental, renting your own suite and running an entire suite business. I loved showing them the beautiful spaces, but also sharing what it takes to keep everything running. The responsibilities, expenses, decisions and lessons that come with each path deserve just as much attention as the cute decor. 😂 As an instructor and entrepreneur, these conversations are some of my favorites. Helping students connect what they’re learning in school to what their future could look like is such a rewarding part of what I do. 🫶🏽 Thank you, Tricoci students, for spending your evening with me and bringing such thoughtful questions! Beauty professionals, which path did you take after school: salon employee, booth rental or your own suite? 👀 #ElevatedImageSuites #ImageByKelz #TricociUniversity #BeautyEducation #BeautyEntrepreneur

Not everything has been sunshine, roses, expansion announcements, and cute pictures in freshly decorated suites. The truth is, I cried almost every day for three months this year. During and after the expansion, tenants backed out of contracts. The financial pressure felt heavy. Problems seemed to appear faster than I could solve them. And somewhere in the middle of managing everything, I realized I wasn’t feeling fulfilled in my beauty career anymore either. I had built more than I ever imagined, yet I was genuinely questioning all of it. Was this still what I wanted? Was I actually happy? Had I built a life that looked successful but no longer felt good to live? Some months in business are exciting, profitable, and full of momentum. Other months humble you. And sometimes it isn’t one bad day or one hard week. Sometimes it’s three months of waking up, doing what needs to be done, and quietly wondering whether you have anything left to give. I didn’t immediately turn it into a lesson. I didn’t wake up one morning magically grateful for the struggle. I needed time, rest, support, better boundaries, and permission to reconsider what I wanted the next version of my life and career to look like. I’m sharing this because the highlight reel wasn’t fake. I am proud of what I built. But the breakdown was real too. Both can be true. You can be grateful and exhausted. Successful and uncertain. Proud of what you created and still need something to change. Not every season is glitz and glamour. Some seasons are simply about finding your way back to yourself. 💗 #EntrepreneurLife #BusinessOwnerReality #WomenInBusiness #BalancedBeautypreneur #ImageByKelz
