Chapter 11: Photograph Nature GO INTO A PHOTO Look at a perfect photograph of nature, and enter a world that before you really looked, you had no idea was there. Some people glare, some stare, some calculate its technical perfection, some notice the clouds, animals, mountains, reflections and then they move on. This is not a bad thing. In fact, it’s safe to say that a photographer is always honored when someone enjoys their photograph. My dream though, is that when someone looks, they look so deeply they’re carried away into the photograph and travel through the scene. The hope is that they look far, and wide, and close, and that they travel beyond the borders. They find all the nuances of color and shape in the landscape and the photo jumps out into them. I hope it touches them, filling them with wonder. My dream for them is that they forget themselves, for just a moment, they are in that place, and that place is in them. For just a moment, they lose all sense of time and space. That is this photographer’s dream. • • • As many know Tim Corcoran, one of the founders and current owner of Headwaters Outdoor School, is an avid nature photographer. It has been a passion of his since he was a young boy and he has travelled the world, taking photos and sharing them with the world. It’s one of his many ways of showing love of place in nature, a way to gather community and create art! The emotion he puts into his art trickles down to the people who visit the Headwaters land and see all of the amazing photographs he has taken. *In this series of slides we have also added a few photographs taken from other Headwaters Outdoor School staff memebers. #earthcaretakerway
