"HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN": 'Elf' Star Faizon Love Released From Florida Jail After Revealing Homelessness And $0 Income.

The legal saga escalated sharply after Love failed to appear for a mandatory April 2026 court hearing and ignored a subsequent order to surrender to jail in May. Acting on a fugitive warrant signed by Judge Kiser, law enforcement officers tracked Love down to Riverside County, California, where he was arrested and served 16 days in a West Coast jail before being flown across the country by transport deputies to Tampa's Orient Road Jail on June 16.

Court filings submitted by Lee’s legal team allege that Love is in severe default on his court-ordered child support, accumulating a staggering $250,000 in unpaid dues and missed $2,500 monthly payments. Lee claims the actor willfully stopped working to avoid paying her "a single dime."

Love's defense attorney, Glen Lansky, fiercely pushed back against claims of willful non-payment, painting a grim picture of the actor's current life. Lansky revealed to the court that Love is completely broke, has been entirely homeless, and has resorted to living out of a 1999 sedan. "That is how the mighty have fallen," Lansky told the courtroom.
