Resistience exists in many forms - at times it is our silence, obersevation and our gentle actions that hold a power deep within us, with the strength of the echos of those who came before us. In the day of the summer solstice, this June 21, @reglasoulcuba bore witness to that power.

In the mountains of the Sierra Rosario, alongside elder Omaira Scott Alfaro, and a collective of 30 others, we planted a sacred cieba tree at @finca_aroko. Together, we made the promise to protect the Cieba, the sacred force of Ìrókò, who holds the bridge between the òrìṣàs and the ancestors in our dna, understanding that our collective wellbeing and happiness depends on how we care of the ceiba tree on our farm.

We want to leave you with images of our the power of collective action - and resistance, that stems from a chain of resilience that flowed through the cimarrones who escaped to the very mountains that encircle Finca Àrokò, to each and everyone of us who feels that seeds have the power to reshape futures.
