Last night of my birthday week. Stepping out one more time. 🥂 Thank you for all the birthday love. I saw all the texts, comments, messages, social media posts, calls, and everything in between. I felt the love, and I appreciate every bit of it. Even though the Raiders didn’t win… today was a good day. In my Ice Cube voice. 😂🏴‍☠️ Chapter 47 begins. ♎️🥂

Stories are how we live beyond our years. Today we celebrated the life of @oneness_is_love grandfather, James Arthur Talley — Papa. I’ve spent most of my life telling stories, but days like today remind me why storytelling matters so much. Facts tell us that someone lived. Stories allow the people who come after them to understand how they lived, what they loved, what they taught us, and how they made us feel. The Bible itself has survived across generations not simply as a collection of instructions, but through stories — people, families, failures, redemption, faith, love and lessons passed from one generation to the next. Papa was a storyteller too. He could tell you about Alabama, California, the people he met, the jobs he worked, the music he loved, the things he learned and the life he experienced. And if you listened long enough, somewhere inside those stories was usually a lesson. Today I watched his family tell his story. And I was reminded that legacy isn’t just what we leave behind financially or professionally. Legacy is what the people who love us remember well enough to repeat. I was especially grateful to stand beside Jessica and our boys today. Watching generations of a family gather to honor the generation that came before them reminded me that, through all the things life throws at us, family is still the story that matters most. Our responsibility is to listen while our elders are here. Ask the questions. Record the stories. Remember the jokes. Learn the lessons. Take the pictures. And then tell those stories again so our children know not only where they came from, but who they came from. A life ends. A story doesn’t have to. Rest well, Papa. Your stories are still being told. ❤️

I Enjoyed my family for a simple, loving day at @sandalwoodfarm_ie 💚💚💚 . The time walking the farm with my grandpa is something I’ll never forget. He told me about what brought him from Alabama to California as a young man. The fearlessness of moving across country resonates with me in this season. Deep down it’s that adventurous soul (even when muted) that has kept him strong and hella funny! Love ya Pops. 💚 cheers to the journey. #yolo

Five years ago, I had the good fortune of being interviewed to showrun the Harlem Globetrotters’ new NBC series. That opportunity became Harlem Globetrotters: Play It Forward — the first time the Globetrotters had been back on television in 40 years. It was an extreme honor, but more than that, it became a turning point for me creatively. At the time, my oldest child was 10 and my youngest was 8. I was thinking more deeply about the kinds of stories I wanted to put into the world. Working with the Globetrotters reminded me that entertainment can still be joyful, inspiring, family-centered, and meaningful without losing its power. It helped me reconnect my creative work with my purpose. One moment I will never forget: a friend of mine, a very serious person, found out I was working with the Globetrotters and immediately turned into a kid again. He lit up talking about his father taking him to see them when he was young. I had never seen someone react with that kind of joy and nostalgia to anything I had worked on before. That told me everything I needed to know about the power of this brand. Fast forward to today, and I’m grateful to continue growing alongside one of the most iconic basketball and entertainment brands in history. Now, through Secrets of the City with aspireTV, we get to see the world with the Globetrotters — Rome, Amsterdam, Lagos, and beyond — telling stories about culture, cuisine, connection, and the global language of basketball. This is the future I believe in as a producer: building direct relationships with brands, networks, and institutions where content does more than fill a schedule. It helps grow audiences, deepen purpose, and create lasting impact. I had no idea how much the Globetrotters brand would grow over these last five years, but I’m glad I got to grow with them. Thank You to @stephaniecurates @forbesblk_ for shining a light on this journey. Thank you to the @harlemglobetrotters @fao , @aspiretv, and everyone helping bring attention to the kind of storytelling I’m most passionate about — stories that matter.

🎉✨ NEW YEAR. NEW LEVEL. NEW BOOK. ✨🎉 2025 was a full-on level-up year. Growth everywhere. Perspective unlocked. Life expanded in ways I couldn’t have scripted—and I’m grateful for every chapter that got me here. 📖🚀 As the year closes out, I’m deeply thankful for our partners. We would not be here without our employer partners of @handyfoundation who continue to show up, invest, and build alongside us. 2025 was a year of recognition too — receiving the Cause + Action Award from NATPE and the Rockstar Award from ADCOLOR. Grateful for the affirmation as we keep doing the work. I’m incredibly proud of my family. Proud of my son @azaihandy for getting into LACHSA. Proud of @eliassolhandy for continuing to chase his acting dreams — being the only 12-year-old in a professional community theater production of Hadestown this year (among other shows) was no small feat. 🎭 And I love that my boys get to see their mom @farmer_dietitian building her dreams in real time @sandalwoodfarm_ie If I had to sum up 2025, this was the year I truly watched the individuals in my family come into their own — while I simultaneously I rose to the occasion myself in areas we’ve been building toward for years. and now, hopefully in 2026 I can get a social life again🤣😂🤣 Grateful. Grounded. Ready. Happy New Year 2026 🥂🎆✨

it was a very Handy Halloween this weekend for our fifth anniversary Halloween casino night Shout out to @thepokerpeople all of our alumni all of our friends that came out to make it a special night. thank you to @famecast and @toshwgriggs for the awesome location in red carpet vibes!! Big shout out to our official party planner and producer of basically anything you want make @heymskarra And to our partners, too many to name over the last five years but will make some individual post to shout you out, but you, you know who you are!! But the most important part of this whole puzzle are the @handyfoundation alumni Hoover for five years have been crushing it working and doing such an excellent job that they’ve invited the next generation in the next generation after that to join the team on various shows that’s what we’re most proud of that. The system of apprenticeship and training works even in art media entertainment. Here’s to five more years recap video coming shortly!!!

Proud of @eliassolhandy he has consistently chased his dreams and goals without hesitation! Earlier this year he Auditioned and was casted in a Musical The TeenEdition of Haydes Town! Moving to a new city can be tough but if you know who you are and what you would like to bring to the world you can find your self and your joy everywhere you go! For anyone that hasn’t heard… this past weekend, Saturday, July 13th, my father Karl Handy passed away at his home in as Las Vegas, NV. I’m clear many folks knew many versions of my father the Veteran, the Teacher, the Juvenile probation officer, the Life Party, and even the trouble maker. But if you really knew his heart you knew he was passionate about life and family even in times of struggle. He just wanted everyone to learn and grow to their highest potential in life. So, we are planning a memorial service not to morn his death but to celebrate his life on what would have been his 67th birthday! SAVE THE DATE August 2, 2024 in Los Angeles CA. Address: TBA. This was his wish so we are throwing one last Birthday Party for my dad!
