👀 DETROIT COLLAB ON THE WAY?

Kash Doll recently appeared on a popular Detroit podcast and was asked who she’s watching from the city. Detroit Barbie was one of the names she brought up — and Kash Doll even said she’d be open to doing a song with her. 🔥🎤

Detroit Barbie has been putting in work, and getting recognition from one of Detroit’s established artists is definitely a moment.

Would y’all want to hear a Kash Doll x Detroit Barbie record? 👀🔥

The Night Before 99–2000 📆

This picture was taken the night before Juvenile took over the 9-9, and I was on the phone with my mama’s second cousin’s uncle, trying to see what everybody was on for later that night. 😂

We didn’t know anything about Y2K yet. We sure didn’t think the computers were going to stop working. We were too busy getting FLY.
Everybody had on Coogi, FUBU, Baby Phat, Tommy Hilfiger, MCM and enough gold jewelry to set off the metal detector at the airport.

The girls were laid, the baby hairs were fighting for their lives, somebody BD was popping another bottle, while one of the girlies’ beeper was going crazy, and everybody was trying to figure out who kept paging them. 😂

You could hear Juvenile, Aaliyah, TLC, or Biggie coming out of every beamer on the block. And IF you where I’m from, you might even hear some Blade Icewood 🧊 knocking.

That night, in the 90’s? We thought we had forever.

Little did we know… we were standing at the beginning of a new millennium, and the dope game was about to change our lives forever. 😂

Democracy works better when people understand how to participate in it.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve enjoyed being part of NextVoice, an initiative bringing residents, community leaders, and local government closer together.

From understanding how local government actually works to connecting people with resources, opportunities, and pathways to get involved, the goal is bigger than any one conversation.

It’s about helping people recognize that their voice has power and giving them the tools to use it.

Grateful to City Council President James Tate and the NextVoice team for continuing to create spaces for meaningful civic engagement in Detroit.

An informed community is an empowered community.
