We’ve been very excited to share this one. The wonderful Beth Johnson ( @elizabethfjohnson ) joins us on Talking Thursdays this week 💛 Beth is a British designer based in New York, currently Design Director at Uncommon, with Collins, Gretel, Johnson Banks, Pentagram and Apple along the way. We get into quite a lot! An Apple internship that she nearly didn’t apply for. A first logo for an entire UN conversation. A sun that thousands of people helped to draw. And an OFFF identity made from the creative community’s actual bacteria - including James’ as he discovers during the conversation 🦠 But we also talk about the people and minds behind the work. Having that necessary space to play, the importance of holding onto what you believe in and ALWAYS remaining curious enough to try something before you talk yourself out of it. So much to take away from this conversation and we can’t wait for you to hear it. Episode 60 with Beth lands on our Youtube channel this Thursday, 15 October ✌️

We had the chance to talk to @pedro.gundarmota and @elizabethfjohnson from @uncommon.creative.studio, who created this year's OFFF visual identity. "A visual identity grown in a lab, not generated by AI. Created using the stolen germs of the creative community." What an inspiring reminder on what happens when concept and design truly work together. Thank you for the amazing talk! @uncommon.creative.studio @pedro.gundarmota @elizabethfjohnson @dashaplesen @ryanbugden @offfest

So excited to be designing the visual campaign for @offfest 2026 with @elizabethfjohnson, @elizsakgun and the team at @uncommon.creative.studio Creativity is a living process, formed through the accumulation and remixing of references, ideas, and perspectives across a shared ecosystem. Our industry is what we make it. Design is what we make it. Culture only grows under the right conditions. Together. See you there. April 16-18 | @dissenyhub

Building on the visual identity by @thisiscollins & @elizabethfjohnson, the centerpiece of our new site for Sun Day is a drawing canvas that lets people around the world create their own sun and add it to a real-time global gallery. We engineered the tool to be fast, intuitive, and mobile-friendly, inviting people all over to submit their contribution. The global gallery grew to include over 6,400 unique suns, submitted by climate writers, scientists, artists, everyday citizens — and even Jane Fonda and Bill McKibben himself. We just launched a new case study for Sun Day, a website created in collaboration with climate activist Bill McKibben to celebrate the power of solar energy and organize collective action. Check out the full project at the link in bio. Designed by Collins and our friend Beth Johnson with type by Commercial Type, the Sun Day website invited people around the world to join a day of action on September 21st—organizing events, spreading the word, and making solar energy feel personal, not abstract. At Sanctuary, we’ve offset our carbon footprint by 150% since 2015, and launched Seaborne, our sustainability consultancy, to help others do right by the environment too. commitment. It was a dream to work with one of our heroes, Bill Mckibben, on this project!
