It’s with a super heavy heart I make this post. #hiphop had four elements. 1 .the emcee 2.the deejay 3.the breakers/dancers 4. The #graffiti artists. Graffiti is literally the background to the #art form. #Kayslay aka #dez #dezzydez ... carved his name first in the underground graffiti scene in the 70’s and 80’s. Style wars brought graffiti to the masses and #dez #scheme #case2 were like super heros to me. Very few understand the dedication needed to create a #piece or #burner. This was not legal anywhere this was renegade #art. #djkayslay was a leader who brought #hiphop to the forefront. He never let anyone forget the roots of this art form. Created in the trenches of New York By Poor Blacks and #puertoricans in the #ghetto. #hiphop wasn’t born on the radio. It was born on the streets. DjKayslay brought the street to the #radio. I’m #sad in never got to meet him. He brought so many artists to the forefront. I always just wanted to spit a verse for him..#rip A true #master#legend#dj .... I think I have to pick up a #spraycan today.

I never say much on here like this...
My first bombing partner was Myth DYB crew. Then I met LES by chance with my boy @theminuske on the train. I was holding a bag of paint. Les goes “what you got in there 5 cans?” Of course he was correct. Les is the type of writer who could tell what color your using by the smell and how much is left in the can. Anyway we exchanged numbers. He called me that night. We instantly became close. We went all city transit that year (2006) We rocked every line every pit in every borough for a few years back to back. Mind you we had shit loads of beef with toys. So we were constantly fixing spots while still branching off. Eventually they introduced me to Panas. Then panas introduced me to Noxer. Then I met Skuf, Spot, Ja and the entire crew...I was already doing my own thing before meeting these older writers who dominated NYC so they took a liking to me and respected my hustle.. different than cats who rode other people’s waves and got fame from pushing a crew or bombing with more established writers. But point is.... Panas was the fuel to my fire. He always pushed me, boosted me. He said one day “nemz, how does it feel to be a king. You with the Kings now. You’re a young king kid” May sound silly but to me those words meant everything to a young hungry jedi... Especially with the momentum I had bombing aggressively at the time. I was confident. Tenacious. Fearless. Panas was the reason I went so hard. He motivated all his peers. He was proud of us. @skuf_ykk is like that. He wants his people to shine. Some people want to see you crumble. Low key hating on you while your carrying their crew on ya back. Smh. Lol. Anyway.
