40+ mentors, 50+ new Travel players, and one Friday afternoon that reminded us just how special this community is. ⚽️💛 The first ever NRYS Travel Mentor Program event brought so much of what we hoped for to the field: kindness, connection, inclusion, and a whole lot of FUN. Watching our mentors welcome younger players, encourage them, and make sure everyone felt part of the team gave us chills. The good kind. The goosebumps, stand-back-and-take-it-all-in kind. Our goal is simple: help kids in our town keep playing soccer for as long as possible. We hope this program gives them more reasons to stay—a familiar face, someone to look up to, a sense of belonging, and a love of the game that keeps growing. Soccer should be for ALL kids, and every player deserves to feel they have a place on the field. A special thank-you to our Lead Mentors, Tyler and Ella, who wanted to open this experience to as many players as possible. They certainly got their wish—and their commitment to including everyone helped make this kickoff so meaningful. (Mentors, we’re in the process of reviewing your interest sheets and will be in touch soon with more info!) To our mentors, younger players, families, coaches, and everyone who helped bring this first event to life: thank you. Your enthusiasm for being part of it (and for helping us shape what comes next) has meant more than we can say. We’ve always known this community was special. Seeing it in action on a beautiful Friday, with so many wonderful kids at both bookends of their Travel journeys, made us feel especially proud and lucky to be part of it. This was a first step. And what a first step it was. 💛 Were you or your player there on Friday? Tell us what you loved, what we could make even better, and if we should do it again soon! #northreadingma #townsoccer #youthsoccer #nrysoccer #ecysa
