Long before the lights come on, the crowds roar, and champions are crowned, every championship has a beginning.

In 2014, a tree fell in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, marking the beginning of a journey to college basketball’s biggest stage.

In 2026, we returned to the forest to begin that journey once again. @ellagasperich gives all of us a firsthand look of the same event, from the eyes of a student.

MEET ELLA! 💌

Ella will be a Sophomore at @stnorbert in the fall, and we are so excited to invite her on to our team as the part-time content creator! At St.Norbert you can find her giving tours, playing trumpet in concert band, walking around campus with a microphone & camera, and most relevant for our collaboration, throwing a lot of heavy implements on the track and field team! ⭐️
