SALON FITOUT SERIES | PART 4 MORE DIY 👨🏻‍🎨

A last min cancellation today meant swapping the colour brush for the staining brush 😂🪵

We’re getting some more staining done, bringing all the timber into the same walnut family so the space feels a little more harmonious 🤎

With holidays just around the corner, it’s time to lock in and tick a few more things off the list ✈️

SALON FITOUT SERIES | PART 3 STUD WALLS 🔨

Finally, some studs in the salon that aren’t us 😂

Doing a salon fitout can feel like you’re haemorrhaging money. Every time you turn around, there’s another invoice 💸

Luckily, Sean’s dad Paul helped us by building the stud walls, saving us a stack of money and giving us a fun day getting stuck into it together. Very grateful for his time, know-how and patience with the two of us rookies 😂🤍

The space is taking shape, one stud and one receipt at a time. Plenty more to come!

SALON FITOUT SERIES | PART 2 DIY 👨🏻‍🎨

After 6 salon fitouts (and 2 renovations), we figured it was finally time to show you everything that goes into creating a new salon. And yes, we mean everything 😂

While we wait for furniture and trades, we’re tackling a little DIY within our skill set. First up, staining the mezzanine timber to match our mirrors downstairs and make the whole space feel more harmonious. A little less mismatched wood, a little more understood 🪵😂

We’re taking you along step by step, from flooring, tiling and signage to our new menu, website, uniforms and all the little decisions in between. Plus, the local businesses helping us bring our dream salon to life 🤍

SALON FITOUT SERIES | PART 1: FLOORING 🪩

After 6 salon fitouts (and 2 renovations), we figured it was finally time to show you everything that goes into creating a new salon. And yes, we mean everything 😂

We’re taking you along step by step, from flooring, tiling and signage to our new menu, website, uniforms and all the little decisions in between. We’ll also be sharing the local businesses helping us bring our dream salon to life 🤍

First up: the floors! Our friends at @lookii_cosmetictattooing recommended @hunter_valley_epoxy and they absolutely nailed it. We chose a grey epoxy with Silverstone Hyperflake, silver flakes, fine silver glitter and two clear top coats ✨

We wanted something that was not only durable but beautiful to last for years to come
To say we’re obsessed is an understatement. If this is only part one, just wait until you see the rest 👀

There’s just something so satisfying about putting all your makeup brushes away and seeing everything perfectly organised 🤍🫧✨ A little makeup brush ASMR to add some calm to your feed because the tiny sounds are EVERYTHING 😌💄🎀

I was a little nervous when I saw the beautiful @tarawallace__ booked in for hair and makeup for her @faytlabel 🥹✨ We went for the signature FAYT look a sleek centre part with soft, natural glam 🤍 And she looked absolutely stunning! 😍

Nothing like spending your day off getting your hair done by your work bestie 😂🤍 I was in desperate need of some fresh foils and Ella was unfortunately the only one qualified to deal with me 😭 The amount of yap throughout this appointment was actually ridiculous 💀 safe to say we got the hair done AND had a laugh.
