My father-in-law was the best guy. ✨

Everyone says that when people go, but he actually was. I often describe him as a real life, Santa Claus of a man because he was always smiling and genuinely happy to be wherever he was. In fact, as I begin to look through all of my photos, I see that even in the background of pictures he is joy-filled and smiling just being around the people he loves.

He was the most kind, genuine, caring person who truly listened to everything that you had to say as if it was the most interesting thing he’d heard. He supported me as a teacher, coming and leading fun lessons for the kids with @salsagirl55 .

He has shown up at every single jubilee event, big or small, over the years and always supported my creative pursuits, he was extremely creative and artistic himself. He has dedicated weekly visits for years to support Brian and I with the kids, including many solo adventures with just him and Leo - bopping all around town, having fun.

I often get so mad at how unjust times like these feel. I just can’t comprehend why the best people leave us so quickly when they do so much good for so many. Honestly, I cannot think of a single person I have met in my life that wakes up truly positive and grateful for the day like him.

He absolutely adored my mother-in-law, they share an incredible love story and partnership that inspires those around them, and he cherished his two sons, family and friends with his whole being. I am so lucky I’ve got to have even a bit of him over these last 13 years that I’ve been a Maihack and know that between our family and all who knew him, his cheer and positivity will be carried on any way that we can.❤️

🫶🏽thank you for the outpour of love, meals, flowers, cards, messages for our family, it means so so much!
